This property is a DANGEROUS place !! It's a full of monkeys . We remained stuck in our room for 2 hours and still got attacked by the monkeys. Had to get a rabies shot. Other than monkeys the place is located at a very estranged place around 25 mints away from Mall road. We booked a room with breakfast for two and never got the breakfast as noone was available at the property. We booked the room for 8 days as we were in Shimla for business purpose but made a check out after 5 days itself. This place is mere wastage of money. Not worth its price or any price at this service . Pros- 1.The room was spacious. Cons- 1.160 steep steps to the room 2. Zero Hospitality 3. The owners are not welcoming and pass stern looks when you leave the room. 4. The room service is not available/provided. You'll have to stay in dirty room. 5. No breakfast was given inspite of making the booking with breakfast. 6. They don't give a damn if you're uncomfortable with the stay. 7. ALOT OF TERRORIZING MONKEYS ! One monkey always remained outside our door. No matter what.

This is one of worst hotel in Shimla. Do not trust them at all. They are goons and stupids. They cancelled my booking without information. They are crazy. Their boss and reception people start shouting. Worst.

No wifi at all No room heating service No AC No taxi service. They might have their agreement with nearby taxi owners who cost more than double and you have no any other option at this distant place. Facilities are pathetic Costs are almost triple. Room doesn't worth more than rs. 600-700. Washrooms are dirty. Extremely slow and limited service. You have to hire a taxy of worth rs 600 even if you want to buy medicine. Very far from city. Its in a village. Ad is fake. Almost all(except 1-2) photos are fake. It takes 75 stairs to reach the room. You have to eat whatever and whenever they provide at their cost. There are only 2 workers for more than 20 people. Boys work very hard. Lalit cooks healthy deener (couldn't stop appreciating the boys even I'm extremely disappointed overall) If you make complaint to owner, he will ask you to find any other hotel. Felt cheated in all aspects. Don't be fooled by the ad. Don't spoil your trip by staying here. People who have given good ratings seem friends or family menbers of the owner. Note - Owner can ask you cancel your booking from hotel booking sites and pay him in person so that you can not post your negative reviews on booking websites.

It's wonderful place becouse of nature, mountan view. It's situated outside of city in silent place, but you can reach main sightseeng very easy by bus or taxi. Here is good tasty vegetarian indian food, hospitable staff and comfortable rooms. It's really home-stay. But you should be rather fit to go upstairs from road to hotel. Also there you can have a yoga lessons with experienced teacher. Owner of Dolphin Cottage helped us to find good car with driver for next 10-days trip in normal prise.

There are some 60-70 steep steps that you have to climb which might tire you. So it is not advisable for older people or people with bad knees or bad stamina. We didn't mind it too much because once you reach the top the view from your room is totally worth all the climbing. The room was very spacious and was surrounded by big windows and 2 balconies. Day time you can see the Himalayan mountains and night time you can see the beautiful city lights. The location is 20 minutes drive from the main city. It was secluded from the city yet not inaccessible, which was great for us. It costs Rs.300 for one way taxi into the city. And the hotel staff will provide you with some taxi contacts. There is also a small water fall about 2 km from this place, which is a good and small trek from the hotel. If you want to spend all your time in the city then this place might not be good for you. The cons are that the room service was very slow. Even though we ordered couple of hours before, the food delivery was delayed further. Room service could have been better. Food was okay, the choice was very limited but decently priced. We also had problems with water supply and hot water in the bathroom. Though the hotel staff tries to help you as soon as you inform them. There is mainly one person managing everything, so some delay is expected. Overall it was a great stay, nice people and beautiful scenery, all in an affordable price.
