I stayed at this hotel for a weekend visit with a friend who lives in Detroit and really loved it! Since my friend was providing the transportation, I wasn’t too concerned about the location of the hotel, but it seemed centrally located. I received great service from the moment I arrived, and loved the industrial design. The room was big and nicely decorated. The large windows opened up to a courtyard, which didn’t provide much natural light. If I was spending more time in my room I wouldn’t definitely have struggled with this detail. The room was clean and the touches made it feel luxurious. I had a chance to eat at the hotel restaurant and the food was good. While the room price is high, I would definitely stay here again when visiting Detroit again.

Excellent conversion of an older building to a modern hotel. Lots of artwork. Very quiet very clean very comfortable. MINOR quibble If you order room service make sure to ask for any condiments you want (e.g. salt or ketchup or ice) as they will not bring it unless you ask (at least in my case). But I will be back, it is a fine place!

The hotel people were great compared to the restaurant with bad service and the quality of the food has gone down. Will not return. Rooms need better lightening plus the shower head put out limited water.

Honestly, was kind of disappointed with the size of the room, along with the cleanliness. There were food crumbs and stains on the couch and the bench. The staff was wonderful though and the food was good. Next time my wife and I are up in Detroit we will probably pick a different hotel.

Food good. No steak though. Drinks way overpriced. $18 to $25 for occupants? I paid $603 for a Jr. Suite and you gouge me at the bar? Service great all around. Place is a refurbished fire HQ, but still looks it. It's not for everyone and only kind of for me. I love history so it was interesting. Bar and lobby is beautiful and inviting but drab if you start looking up close. Overall, we had great time but will stay elsewhere because of no special pricing for occupants. I did not feel special, perhaps because I am not. My wife did enjoy it though, but the Westin is nicer, and we keep ending up back there.
