Small but cozy rooms. Quiet but yet in a perfect location. Staff were lovely. Breakfast was okay. Wifi was very slow & temperamental though. Other than that, we had a great stay with easy check in/out & staff were happy to hold our luggage free of charge after we checked out

We stayed in a "Triple room classic" with the family. It was quiet and tidy. I generally hate staying at hotels because I can't get proper sleep in overly soft beds and with the air conditioner blasting, I wake up stiff and dehydrated and with dry eyes. Our room had none of that and I slept splendidly! The breakfast was ok.

My colleague and I checked in late on a Tuesday in the end of August. After check in, I took the elevator to my room on the 5th floor . After leaving the elevator, I thought it smelled something funky in the hallway - but upon entering my room it became much worse. First, I couldn't believe what I was experiencing, and thought it possibly was just my senses playing with me or that the smell came from the bathroom. I had a long day and took a shower. The bathroom was in dire need of repair/renovation. The pressure was weak and it took a minute to get hot water. The bathroom had holes in the ceiling and was very worn down. Think of a bathroom that was renovated sometime in the 80's. But it was the cleanest and best smelling part of the room. After the shower I tried to relax and drift off to sleep - it didn't work. The smell was so bad and I couldn't figure out why. I was drifting in and out of sleep the entire night, but was too tired to contact the front desk. I think that lack of ventilation, no renovation for 30-40 years and old furniture and carpet makes it smell horrible. It smells like dust and that someone was smoking in the rooms for years, then they decided to prohibit it. My colleague experienced the same thing as me, but at the other end of the corridor. The morning after I got a hold of the reception and asked them to please do something about the smell. They did. When we came back to the hotel that night they had sprayed something in the hallway and in our rooms to hide the smell. It was a lot better, but the horrible smell lingered in the background. It had returned somewhat the next morning, despite me airing my room the entire night. The breakfast was ok - but had the rooms been nicer, it would have been a bad experience too. It was served in the Chinese restaurant next door. So - in summary: Worn down, smelly and sad. Visiting this hotel is not something I ever want to try again.

If you don't want to spend a fortune on a room while mostly out for sightseeing, this is the place for you. It's within walking distance from the central station and not far away from 2 metro stations. The hotel cuts down on cost and cleaning personell, which is why the rooms are only tidied every 3rd day or upon request. The overall experience is clean, though one should not look too close into every corner (e.g. old stains on the carpet). The furniture is a bit worn in some cases, but the rooms still make a classy impression. You get exactly what you pay for. At breakfast you'll find everything you need, plus a little waffle-making station. All in all, I would stay there again if on a budget, the location is great!

The hotel uses fragranced cleaning products and the smell was unbearable especially in the stairwell and basement bathroom area. It also extended to the restaurant. Great shame as the food at Ming restaurant is really good and they even have dim sum on Friday night and the weekend
