The location is next to Taipei main station . It is 20m from the M3 exit . Beside the hotel , there is a family mart. 7 eleven , youtiao/jianbing shop, baozi shop . In front of the hotel, there is a dim sum stall set up by the hotel selling dim sum at NT50 each plate takeaway . There is also a traditional jiaozi/ noodle shop 50 m from the hotel . Opposite at M8 exit , there is Tim Ho Wan that sells delicious Tim Sum . We were warmly greeted . The receptionist informed us that checkin was at 3 pm but granted an early checkin of 2 pm . We left our bags at the hotel and went off for lunch . We also had 3 coupons to exchange for drinks in the cafe. The room is a triple room with a queen bed and a single . Beds were comfortable with enough pillows. Wifi was reliable and fast . Bathroom has a bathtub and WC . Although the hotel is old , cleanliness is adequate . 3 bottles of water were supplied together with three packets of oolong tea , green tea and 3in 1 coffee bags . Amenities include toothbrushes , combs , shavers , ear buds , cotton . Shampoo, hair conditioner , moisturiser were supplied in bottles mounted to the wall . There is also a fridge and safe in the room . The main disadvantage of this hotel is the temperature control . We could not control the temperature of the aircon and it was either off , low , medium or high. Hence we were quite cold in the room and had to resort to using the extra blankets given to keep warm. Breakfast was adequate with a bread , salad , ham , cereals. Taiwanese porridge , egg, noodles , beverage stations . Breakfast starts at 7 am . Overall a good stay for a fair price . O

Firstly Taipei was an amazing city that we are glad we decided to finally visit, and will definitely come back.. Cosmos Hotel, is in such a convenient location, right near Taipei main station, and an Exit at M3 that virtually takes you 20m to the door of the hotel.. Check in was was fairly quick and then took the elevator up to our room.. There is definitely a musty type smell in the corridor, and when we entered the room with the aircon pumped up, it was more prevalent.. The room is definitely dated, and the furniture reflects this as well. The shower was in a bathtub, but with extremely low ceilings, i was almost hitting the shower head and i am just under 6 feet tall. The bed was not overly comfortable, and after 4 nights on it, the back felt very stiff. Breakfast was pretty good, the staff super efficient, and they work at a tremendous speed. They were definitely a highlight of our stay.. The Cosmos Hotel is in a great location, with good access to get where you want, but has quite a few faults that could make you look elsewhere. For me the musty smell, the bed comfort, and overall it just feels old and in need of a renovation would be enough to have ne looking elsewhere next time

A moldy experience.

Our family of four (two adults and two teenagers) had planned to stay several days - but left after the first night because of the incredibly strong mold smell that permeated the 16th floor. Great location, staff were friendly and efficient. The rooms were small, furniture dated but well maintained. The smell of mold was overpowering - coming off the elevators, the damp funk hits you and even more concentrated in our two rooms. There was no mold/mildew visible, so I suspect its the HVAC. Our family doesn't have a mold sensitivity, but within an hour each of us had headaches - we opened all the windows for the night - but it wasn't sufficient to dispel the awful smell. Laying on the rock hard mattress, I made reservations for a more expensive branded hotel and we checked out promptly the next morning.

All-around good hotel choice Positives: Location minutes away from the Taipei Main Train Station --there is even an exit for it from the station --easy access to all the conveniences available at the station: 2 Family Marts, eateries, Starbucks and Boba shops, train tickets --meeting points for tours Access to other conveniences outside the station: --a Family Mart and 7-Eleven within feet of the hotel: we bought our dinner on our first night in Taipei when we tried to find something to eat at 10 p.m. local time --a cafe for coffee, tea, beer and wine operated by the hotel --a dimsum cart operated by the hotel --a pastry and cake shop operated by the hotel --an independent dim sum stall next door to the Family Mart Access to ride-shares and taxis: the hotel is well-known enough to not require an address --when we arrived, we had to take a taxi as Uber drivers cannot pick up at Taoyuan Airport--drop off was not a problem Decent size room for 2 twin beds with a desk, bar area and entertainment unit and a refrigerator Decent size bathroom with a Toto bidet-cum-toilet; the bidet portion does not appear to be powered on, but appears connected to a telephone (does it need to be "turned on."?) Very nice breakfast buffet: while some Western items were available, most of the items were Chinese. --congee station --noodle soup station --dim sum station --fruit station --salad station Friendly, helpful staff--the mission appears to be efficient customer service: --all that is needed is to mention something once at the front desk and the message is relayed to the rest of the staff: we mentioined that we will miss 2, possibly 3 breakfasts, and on one of the days mentioned, the breakfast staff had a note that we will not be joining them that morning; this took a few minutes to resolve but we had a very early breakfast --on days that we missed breakfast, the hotel packed a few breakfast buns and flavored tea into 2 to-go boxes, which although not as nice as the buffet, were very much appreciated. The only issues I had were the bed which while firm, was not a pillow-top, and the slightly fuggy smell of the carpet in the elevator foyer on our floor On the whole, the Cosmos Hotel was a very good hotel choice for central Taipei.

Stayed at cosmos each and every time we go to taipei. The previous time was in 2019 when my child was still small. This time round, he's bigger than me and i realized that it was way too squeezy for both of us at the small double bed. Regretted not booking the triple single bed. One biggest problem with the room is not only it does not have any usb chargers, the switches are only at the front of the room. We ended up using our Powerbanks and charging them after that which makes it very inconvenient. Hope cosmos will consider this point if making any upgrades to the room. The breakfast was boring and worse each and every time we go. Their noodles soup used to be way nicer and they removed the yakult that my child likes and looks forward to the most every morning. The hashbrowns were cold and soggy every morning no matter what time i have my breakfast. The restaurant was extremely busy every morning and we had to share tables 2 out of the 5 days. As usual, location and staff service is great. I'm glad that the cleaner didn't throw away my toiletries like another reviewer mentioned. I'll be damn upset if my toiletries were thrown away.
