Great location convenient/midway to both Hyde Park to the South and North Shore and cool neighborhoods like Andersonville. Immediately adjacent to Magnificent Mile and abundant strolling and dining opportunities. Suite was great with well equipped small kitchen. separate living area, and very comfortable bed. Really enjoyed our stay. Will use again.

Third time not a charm, service lacking.

Our third time staying here in a year and our worst. Service is way off this visit. I asked for daily housekeeping and we never received it. It’s Friday we got back at 3:30 and I called and said second day no housekeeping, can we at least have some towels and do you mind taking the trash? They sent someone and did only that. Plus, we accidentally paid for a Premium room and there is nothing different. Premium is on a high floor, but same exact room so instead of 7 we are on 10 and nothing premium. Also you are suppose to get Premium snacks - the first night I called TWICE asking if we could have our snacks and water. The second night they didn’t come AT ALL and I didn’t call. We are on a third day no snacks no house keeping. We are going to have to find a new place to stay for our frequent visits to visit our son.

Located just one block from the Magnificent Mile, Homewood Suites Chicago-Downtown is in prime real estate and easily accessible to any of the major points of interest in Chicago. Anywhere we visited, whether it was one of the city's notable restaurants, department stores, or Navy Pier, was within twenty minutes of light stroll. It's impossible to beat the value. That being said, my family had quite a freezing experience during our four day stay here at Homewood Suites Chicago-Downtown. Nights got cold in Chicago during late September and our room's heater did not work the entire time despite numerous promises by the staff that they would get it to work. All they provided was a small space heater that made no difference. We requested room change but supposedly it was conference week in Chicago so the hotel was full. The room itself was unremarkable but clean; unfortunately, it's tough to enjoy a stay when you have to go to sleep fully dressed. The swimming pool suffered the same issue - it was freezing cold despite the staff's (over)promises that they will get it to work. The view was fantastic though. Once again, the hotel's amazing location came to rescue. The staff was friendly enough when they did not fulfill their promises and the continental breakfast is what it is. The elevators can be a bit slow and five minute waits were not uncommon. Given the unpleasantly cold stay, we'll probably look elsewhere next time we're in Chicago although in the same neighborhood as this is the place to be.

Perfect Place to Stay for Sightseeing!

This location was perfect for my first Chicago trip as it put us within walking distance of several things on my list of must sees. All of the hotel staff were super sweet and attentive. One of the elevators was down due to maintenance our entire stay but the staff stayed on top of it by using their work elevator, especially during peak hours. I loved the sign near the elevators reflecting the average busier times for breakfast so you could plan accordingly. And speaking of breakfast..my kids truly LOVED the hotels breakfast and actually chose it over fresh doughnuts! So KUDOS to the breakfast team! We will definitely be using this hotel again when we come back up next time!

Super friendly staff (Jeremy at breakfast is great! The room was clean and comfortable. We had a few small delays with the elevator because one is being upgraded. The staff graciously opened the freight elevator several times to help with this. Close to the Magnificent Mile and many places nearby to eat. Overall a wonderful mini vacation!!!
