Check-in was friendly and fast. I liked being wished a “Blessed Day”. The room seems ok at first glance. It is very economical, but when you look at the details this place does not stand up to scrutiny. The hotel seems new, or is it just remodeled and renamed? I don’t know. Furnishings are in decent shape. Hairdryer, fridge and microwave in room. Bed was comfortable. Short of a few doors being let closed a bit too loudly, it’s quiet. Location is ok. The area seems to be being rebuilt and modernized. Toiletries are basic and not good quality. A breakfast was offered but it looked bleh so I passed and went elsewhere. The real problem(s)? Horizontal surfaces, particularly, the floor, which was, despite being “mopped”, really very dirty. Keep your socks on and do not look in corners or near flooring edges. I cleaned the hairdryer and ice buckets before using them; they needed it. I also wiped off the top of the toilet tank and handle. Some linens are ok; others are stained or dingy. I captured and flushed one roach one morning. It’s Texas, there’s bugs here occasionally but it did not add positively to the overall impression. The place has potential but housekeeping is a fail. I’d suggest going to one of the new hotels on Huffmeister closer to 290.

We booked our stay online and the process was simple and no hassle booking. The location is easy to find not too far off of Hwy. 290 on Huffmeister Rd. The back of the building is a vacant lot and although it is located close to the road, we were not disturbed by road noise. In front of the hotel there is some building construction but no issue with that either. The building is reminiscent of a motel in the day as it is two stories, all doors face the parking lot, and it isn't real big. We were able to park right in front of our door. The office was convenient, clean and the staff was nice. Check in was quick and easy. The breakfast area is in with the office and is small but does have four two person tables for seating and a self serve breakfast bar. A continental breakfast is offered from 6:30 to 9:30 and you have two juice choices, coffee (no decaf when we were there), small packaged pastries, a few cereals, and waffles. No smoking or pets are allowed and we didn't notice anyone not following this. The room was a nice size with a king bed, a small sofa to the side and a separate vanity area from the tub area. The TV worked easily and good picture with lots of channels. There was also a nice mini fridge and a microwave. The entrance door to the room did drag and there were no kleenex provided in the vanity area. There was also a hairdryer, iron and ironing board provided but only one bent hanger to use to hang clothes. As other reviews mentioned, the AC was not on when we arrived but it wasn't real hot that day and it cooled quickly. The unit worked well and was not noisy. We really appreciated that the floors are not carpeted but they might have needed a quick wet mopping as my white socks were really dirty after walking on them a few hours. The area by the door was a good open area and had an inset for placing luggage and such out of the way. The room was set up nicely and there was also a small desk, chair and lamp. There were a lot of 110 plugs if you have your own USB adapters to plug in but I only saw two actual USB charging plugs and these were on the alarm clock. The bathroom water pressure was just okay and the shower head only provided a fine mist. The towels were thinner but they sufficed. There was a used bar of soap left on the shower shelf. The bathroom door squeaked loudly, if I'd had some WD-40 I could have sprayed a dab and fixed that quickly but it also would not stay shut as the handle latch was not working properly. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were thick. We found this place to be a good choice for the price, location and the night.

Wasn't expecting much for price but was very nice. Had microwave, fridge, nice flat screen with Direct Tv, comfy bed, extremely clean. But what I really loved were the details like having two outlets on the desk lamp to do paperwork while charging phone/laptop, the iron and blow dryer. They really thought of everything. This my go to spot in NW Houston if price doesn't change.

Good Stay for a Night

Overall, the room was fine. The bed was comfortable and there was a couch with a coffee table area along with a desk and chair. The nightstands had built in outlets on the front of them, which was nice and handy. Only complaints about the room were that the shower curtain was too short to stay inside the tub when we showered. There was a curved shower rod and with the curtain being too short, it just kind of hung open beside the tub causing a good bit of water to go on the floor. We put a towel on the floor but we still had to mop up some water afterwards. Also, the bathroom was extremely slippery even before soap or shampoo was used, so we tried not to move anymore than we just had to. There was no kind of anti slip products in the floor of the tub. Breakfast was just okay, waffles, cereal and toast or bagel. There was a drink dispenser that listed apple or orange juice but it was empty and there was no one on duty at the front desk to ask about it, so we had to drink water with our waffles. The no one on duty thing is my other complaint. This is the first time that I've stayed at a hotel that didn't have someone on duty at the front desk 24/7. We checked out around 8 am and there was no one there to take the key. There was a sign in the window of the office that said if you were checking out before 8:30 to leave the key on the desk. I was really unhappy with this and it made me worried that we would end up getting charged for a 2nd night somehow. I called later that day to check and make sure there had been no problems with our checkout. I probably wouldn't stay here again and it's mainly because of not having someone on duty. I didn't like just leaving my key like that where anyone else could have walked in and found it. If that idea doesn't bother you, then it's a good hotel for a quick stay.

This hotel is newly updated and I guess it changed names because I saw an America's Best Value sitting outside by the stairs. The rooms were clean and spacious. The bathroom was okay but they need to invest in some new towels. The towels looked dingy and were thin. Rooms had microwaves and fridges which was a plus. There was plenty of parking too.
