The price quality is completely wrong here! Their rooms are very, very basic: small rooms with smelly, noisy (fan!) bathrooms. We paid 5000 rupees per night! After two nights we moved to another place in the same area, Hari Om. Their rooms are far better and we pay less than half! Coconut Tree Resort is on booking.com, while many other places are not. booking.com has advantages, but for Gokarna I would book directly.

Really really awesome service It is literally the best place you can stay at in Gokarna, Well to be honest it was not just an hotelling experience for me it was rather and awesome connection experience Actually went there on a solo ride. The staff there was so friendly so supportive that they did not help me just inside the hotel but also helped me outside of the hotel too Especially Yusuf Bhai, he was like my best go-to pal during my while gokarna trip, My trip was of just a day but their hospitality made sure i stayed there for 4 complete days, yes i stayed there for 4 days instead of just one because i felt so comfortable with their outstanding hospitality!! Hats off to Yusuf bhai 🤟

Convenient location for beaches

Very conveniently located for Kudle Beach and the town and easy to reach Om Beach. Owners were helpful and friendly. Good aircon. Hasn’t been open very long and still had a few teething issues around plumbing etc when we were there but owners sorted them out when raised. Landscaping is also still a work in progress. The owners (Jasmine and Ansari) are great and very professional / have great customer service and understanding of tourism and perfect English. However some of their young staff could do with a little more training (less time on mobiles and chat amongst themselves, more awareness of customers etc - plus maybe a bit more English spoken by the team would help communications and engagement with international customers).

We never thought what supposed to be a sweet memory turned out to be a horrible experience. Just hours before checkin to coconut tree resort Gokarna got a cancel booking message from this place. The manager lady and a guy who were in charge of the resort had some terrible behavior. They don't know how to talk to a customer and can loose their temper and Start to threaten and go up to saying do the payment and get lost. Honestly never met such rude two faced staff (the lady and the guy) Rooms have some horrible mattress. The bed heats up like a furnace and no human can sleep on these beds. We struggled a lot to catch some sleep, to add it the rooms are not ventilated properly. The heat builds up over the day and you will feel trapped inside a oven. The fans just don't work, the ceiling fans runs very slow and when we complained the arrogant resort manager says voltage is single phase and that's the max the fan runs. We decided to open windows to cool down the room but we're swamped with mosquitos bites. Ventilation in the bathroom doesn't work which leaves the bathroom Misty and smelly after using loo. if you are not majorly bothered about the cleanliness of the room and want a cheap untidy place to lay down you can choose this resort. The boys who work at the resort, the server the cook were all nice people. The manager lady and a guy who were in charge of the resort had some terrible behavior and was giving lame excuses. They doesn't know what is customer service. Food is too expensive not worth of what you pay, over rated resort You better have a back up plan otherwise be brave enough to deal with thug like arrogance people.

Resort owners cancelled the booking and allotted our rooms to someone else. They do what they feel like.

We had reserved our stay at Coconut Tree Resort for two nights in January (25th-26th) through Booking.com (payment at check-out, credit card details visible on my account page). On 23rd, I get a call from the hotel asking for my confirmation and if indeed we're coming on our allocated dates. I confirm and say yes, no change in our plans. They ask for an estimated time of arrival to which I reply around 11.30 am, maybe an hour later (normal check-in time is 12 pm) On 25th, we drive from Murudushwar and reach the resort at around 1.20 pm (just 80 mins after the usual 12 pm check-in time). To our great shock, the resort owner tells me "We were trying to call you, you didn't pick up, so we cancelled your booking and gave your rooms to someone else and now we're sold out!" I checked my phone and there were around 3-4 calls from the resort, which I genuinely didn't see on my phone as I was driving and my phone was at the back. I didn't expect any call from the resort anyway since I had already confirmed my arrival on Thursday!! I was understandably enraged because: 1. this has never ever happened before. 2. I had confirmed just 2 days before and it's common sense that if I'm cancelling, I cancel through Booking.com and incur cancellation charges (applicable 48 hours before arrival). I just won't not show up. The resort owners said that they have had no-show cases before, so the Thursday confirmation call was of no use. Why did you call me on Thursday then? And you assumed I'm not coming since I was an hour late and could not pick your calls, so you cancelled my booking and allotted my rooms to someone else? No message or anything was sent either as "that would mean encroaching on privacy", according to them, but cancelling bookings is totally fine and they're well within their rights to cancel and do as they please! Such hypocrisy! He also said I had not mentioned my credit card details, so he had to cancel, when clearly, my credit card details were furnished on Booking.com. I have used Booking.com for the last 6 years for all my accommodation bookings, details are saved there! Nonsense. I was shocked! The guy just kept on saying and doing what he pleased. What do I do now? Imagine arriving with a family of four, high on expectations for a good vacation only to find out that your room bookings are cancelled, based on some stupid self-created rules by the resort management! Atrocious behaviour. The guy refused to reason with me and kept harping on the fact that I didn't pick up my phone and we kept going on in circles. Anyway, since there was no point arguing again and again, I asked for a solution and he helped connect with Hotel Om International and blocked two rooms for us there. This turned out to a blessing in disguise, as we had a great stay there (though not a resort-type feel, but never mind). Who knows what else we might had suffered or encountered at this great Coconut Tree Resort based on the owner's whims and fancies. In hindsight, good we didn't stay there. Note to management: Please trust your customer to arrive (those who have confirmed two days before arrival) and not cancel rooms based on one-off past experiences you might have had. Open your eyes and do not torture people like this. You're in the hospitality business, need not remind you of that.
