Being a hostel, the review of a dormitory largely depends on the people you share the room with. In my case, over four nights, my roommates and I only had an issue one night when a group of guys came back at three in the morning and started talking loudly, disturbing everyone's sleep. Besides this, the dormitory is very small: 12 beds in about 30 square meters. My bed creaked. The lockers are large enough to hold a small trolley, but bring a padlock. Towels are available for a fee. The bathrooms and showers are clean and are cleaned frequently. The common room is spacious and very nice. Guests have access to a kitchen, but you can also buy food from the hostel's kitchen at fairly reasonable prices. The location is excellent, served by a free ferry that shuttles to the central station every 3-4 minutes until 2-3 in the morning. Dormitory prices are quite high given the quality.

Great hostel with so many planned activities

We stayed here a few days before Halloween and they had so many activities around it. The location is great - free ferry from the central station and a minute walk after. Kind staff. The rooms were really nice and comfortable, private bathrooms too. They have a bar and a lounge. For Halloween they had different themed parties and even a pumpkin carving contest. I meed great people there and I would definitely stay again!

Bad Experience / Worst Hostel ever stayed in

Worst Hostel I ever stayed in for the price the charge. Don't even bother to complain because the staff just say how sorry they are to hear about your problems and complaints. I booked a dorm room and bunk bed. Did not get what I booked. The pictures they advertise on booking . com is not what they give you. When I asked I was told no that is the smaller bed dorms photos . The room was wet and full of black mould all over the place. The room have been given fans and moisture absorbers but they don't even work. The aircon did not work 100% ( I would say worked 5%) The bedding did not look and feel clean - I doubt if it was even washed The room was very cramped and no windows to open - this all with no working aircon and mould all over the walls. My bed had chewing gum stock on the railing which they did not bother to clean. The rooms was not cleaned during the 3 days `I stayed there as the dirt and dust was very clear on the floors and railings. Lockers were broken and many lockers had old locks on them - when I complained at reception I first got attitude from the staff which helped me only after I starting making a scene at reception. They started telling me to use any locker on which I insisted no because the night before when people checked in after 12pm there was heavy argument about people using other beds lockers. myself and one other person staying these 3 days got a flu while staying here and I believe it was because of this bad room we had to stay in. I did complain several times but nothing was done about it. Staff working at reception just don't seem to care as it looks like any random person are just working there. daily they have different staff at reception. with the pricing they charge anything else you want cost extra money - towels 5 euros / lock 5 euros / playing pool 3 euros - I wanted to hang my bed and they wanted to charge me 10 euros

Staff was great. Facilities were well maintained. Felt like i was in a reality show with all the events and people. Perfect hostel for solo travellers. Good location as well, literally in the perfect near centre of amsterdam. Food was great. You can't go wrong with this hostel. Definitely going back.

Writing this on behalf of a daughter. Firstly the reception staff (Milla and Maciej specifically) were excellent as daughter realised, after she had checked out and on route back home, that she had unfortunately left one AirPod in her bed (rolls eyes). I called reception and gave them the room number, they immediately checked and emailed confirmation that they had it and recommend I arrange a courier. Arranged this through DHL, who did let us down somewhat as they failed to book the driver after I completed all the online paperwork. On calling DHL, after the due delivery date, it was then scheduled and delivered to daughter at Uni. Throughout all this the Front of House staff at ClinkNOORD were excellent. They had the package ready and waiting and kept us informed. Daughter said that the staff at the hostel were very friendly and helpful for the week she was there with all her Uni pals - nearly 50 students! The cleaners were thorough, polite and considerate of their space/personal possessions. Hostel location is PERFECT, with 24/7 access by boat to central Amsterdam. The social room was excellent, really well organised one way breakfast system with staff to help explain the system. Social activities most evenings were also organised by the hostel.
