Unhygenic food.. services is not proper.. u ask for something else, they give u their choice.. menu is full of items.. but when u order only a few things are available. This hotel is highly spoiled.. staff is ignorent and misbehaves.. ........allover worst

A budget hotel in small lane

Booked a room in the hotel through an agent thinking it is a few hundred meters away from main road. But got shock when my car driver told me that car would not be able to reach the hotel as it is in a small lane. I had to get down on the main road and get a coolie to carry our bags and reach the hotel. Room was just OK. Thought it was sufficient for my family of three, bath room odour was a bit uncomfortable. But there was no water problem and geyser worked as expected. Room service was excellent! Service boys were very courteous and very prompt. As we were in Dec 2019, it was very cold and service boys could give us warm water and tea whenever we needed. Food was quite OK if not excellent. One need to walk a few hundred meters up hill to reach Mall road. You find many shops along the way to the Mall road. One problem was that the hotel insisted on payment in cash. In any case there are ATMs of two banks couple of meters away from the hotel and so never faced cash problem. Notes: (1) As cars and probably even bikes can not be taken to the hotel, there is no question of parking! You need to walk for a few hundred meters from main road to reach the hotel. Further, the way to hotel is not flat but slopy. It was almost like trekking hill to reach hotel or to reach Mall road from the hotel. Walking might be difficult for old people and hence keep this in mind while booking. (2) Need to carry your luggage or get a coolie to carry your luggage to/from hotel. Ask your car driver or call hotel for this. (3) Hotel provides heaters to warm room but you need to pay. Its worth having them in winters.

Strictly budget. Location is a little far from the main road,in a very narrow street. Not professionally managed. Not worth the money. The room is average but floors need urgent cleaning.The bathroom was clean but had some bad odour.Staff behavior was very cold. Overall not a good experience.

Hotel Amber Shimla is situated in Ram Bazar near Ram mandir ,near Uco bank ,this is a average stay option when you want a hotel in market area of Shimla,Ram Bazar is a old and busy market of Shimla,cab or car can not go to the hotel but it can drop you at a walking distance,this is an average budget hotel ,we four members booked one family room which was spacious enough for 4 members, washroom was also average but not very bad,hotel location falls in a narrow lane and you will have to walk on a steep way ,there is a big sweet shop under hotel building and a restaurant too,all type of shops are there in surrounding area,No lift in hotel so you will have to go through stairs on upper floors, service is satisfactory and cleanliness is not excellent but may be said ok,Mall road mat be accessed through walk but little far ,over all you may opt when you want an average budget stay in market area of Shimla----thanks------SSS-----
