Is my credit card information safe on your site?
Yes. Cleartrip.com uses thawte SSL Certificates, which is an assurance that it follows the best security practices adopted by major online vendors. Any information you enter when transacting with Cleartrip.com is sent in a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) session and is encrypted to protect you against unintentional disclosure to third parties.
What’s the Card Verification Number (CVV) on my credit card?
The CVV is an important security feature that further reduces the risk of Internet fraud. This number never appears on sales receipts or billing statements and is only found on the physical card itself. We ask you to enter the CVV code during your transaction to make sure that the card is, in fact, in your possession.
Where is the Card Verification Number (CVV) located on my credit card?
For Visa/MasterCard: Your CVV is the three–digit code after the last four digits of your credit card number on the back of the card within the signature field.

For American Express: Your CVV is the four–digit number on the front right–hand side of the card above the card number.

Under what name will my transaction appear on my credit card statement?
We’re Cleartrip, remember? No obscure company name is going to appear on your statement. Your purchase will be charged under Cleartrip Travel Services Pvt. Ltd.
What is Verified by Visa or VBV?
Verified by Visa or VBV is a product offered by Visa in conjunction with the bank that’s issued your card. VBV uses personal passwords or identity information to help protect Visa card numbers against unauthorized use. VBV is available for most Visa cards from participating financial institutions.
How does VBV help me?
VBV provides an extra level of protection for online shopping and helps to prevent unauthorized online use before it can happens.
How do I know whether or not my bank has a VBV facility?
You can ask the help desk or Call Center of the card issuing bank and confirm whether or not your card offers the VBV facility.
How does VBV work?
VBV protects your existing Visa card with a password that’s been created by you and provides the added assurance that only you can use your Visa card online. For more details on VBV, please click here.
What is MasterCard SecureCode?
MasterCard Secure Code is a unique service that uses a private code to help protect your card against unauthorized use when you shop at participating online merchants.
How does MasterCard Secure Code work?
MasterCardSecure Code (The MasterCard Secure Code Program) is a comparable security facility to VBV. For more details click here.

Netbanking Payments

What is ‘Pay by Net Banking’ all about?
‘Pay by Net Banking’ is a mode of payment that allows you to pay for the services offered at Cleartrip by direct debit from your bank account.
Can I use this option?
If you have a bank account with which you can make online transactions, then yes, you can definitely use the ‘Pay by Net Banking’ option at Cleartrip.
If I pay by net banking, how long will it take for my account to be debited?
After a successful transaction, your account will get debited immediately.
I don’t know my net banking password. What should I do?
Just contact your bank’s helpdesk and they will retrieve your net banking password for you.
How can I make the payment using the ‘Pay by Net Banking’ option provided by ICICI?
You need to be an ICICI bank account holder for this. Just follow these easy steps:
  1. On the payment page, select ‘Pay by Net Banking’, select ‘ICICI’ and hit ‘Continue’.
  2. You will be redirected to ICICI’s Infinity page. Enter your login ID and password to log on.
  3. On the next page, verify the payee details and the amount to be paid. Select the account to be debited.
  4. Enter your login ID and the transaction password. Hit ‘Pay’.
  5. If the payment has been successful, you will be shown your payment reference number. Do note it down. Then hit ‘OK’ and you’ll be redirected to Cleartrip’s Thank You page

How can I make the payment using the ‘Pay by Net Banking’ facility provided by HDFC?
You need to be an HDFC bank account holder for this. Just follow these easy steps:
  1. On the payment page, select ‘Pay by Net Banking’, select ‘HDFC’ and hit ‘Continue’.
  2. You will be redirected to HDFC’s net banking page. Enter your login ID and password to log on.
  3. On the next page, verify the payee details and the amount to be paid.
  4. Select the account to be debited. Hit ‘Continue’.
  5. If the payment has been successful, you will be shown your payment reference number. Do note it down. Then hit ‘OK’ and you’ll be redirected to Cleartrip’s Thank You page

How do I pay using Citi Bank Netbanking (or debit card)?
  1. On the payment step, select “Pay by Netbanking”, select Citi, and hit the “Continue” button.
  2. You’ll be taken to Citi Bank’s netbanking signin page, where you’ll have to enter your debit card number, debit card expiry year + month, and IPIN.
  3. After successfully signing in, the booking amount will be immediately debited from your account. Hit the "Continue" button to complete the tranaction.
  4. You’ll be redirected back to Cleartrip’s website after successfully completing the payment, where we’ll confirm the booking and send you packing on that trip!

While I was paying by net banking, my ‘session expired’. Say what?
Here’s what happened – your session expired due to security reasons. This happens, simply, when you take too long to make the direct debit payment and don’t manage it in the specified amount of time. Go back to the Cleartrip home page and start over. We know it’s annoying, but it’s all for security.
I made a successful payment by net banking but the system says that the ‘verification has failed’. Now what?
To make a successful booking, your payment transaction has to get verified successfully at your bank’s direct debit gateway. The verification can fail because of various reasons. If you made a successful payment but the verification failed, don’t sweat. The amount debited from your account will get credited back within 7 working days.
Why do I see a debit by BillDesk in my account statement when I pay by Netbanking on Cleartrip?
Don’t panic – that’s us. BillDesk is a company which provides various payment services to other companies. We’ve partnered with BillDesk to enable a host of Netbanking payment options for our customers. They debit your account on our behalf when you make a payment at Cleartrip.
I cancelled a booking which was made using ‘Pay by Net Banking’ option. How will I get my money back and when?
The account that you used for payment will get credited with the refund amount within 7 working days.

Cash Cards

What is a ‘Cash Card’?
Go to a shop, pay cash, get plastic, use it online. Enough said.
Which Cash Cards can I use at Cleartrip?
Only ItzCash right now. We're working on getting the others on board as well.
Which products can I book through a Cash Card?
Only flights & trains, not hotels. Bummer – we know, and we're working on it.
Any transaction or processing fee if I pay through a Cash Card?
Not for booking flights. For trains – 1.5% over and above the ticket cost and Cleartrip charges. You will be shown the ticket cost & the transaction fee separately during the booking process.
How does it work?
You need to have a valid cash card to be able to pay through one. Follow these steps:
  1. On the payment page, select ‘Pay by Cash Card’, select your cash card issuer, and hit ‘Continue’.
  2. You will be redirected to your cash card’s authentication page. Enter your card number (or login ID) and PIN (or password).
  3. On the next page, verify the payee details and the amount to be paid and hit ‘Continue’.
  4. You’ll be redirected to Cleartrip where we’ll process your booking.
How long do refunds take?
Usually 1 or 2 working days.

Equated Monthly Installment (EMI)

What is a ‘EMI’?
EMI stands for ‘Equated Monthly Installment’ and is just another manner by which you can pay for your bookings on Cleartrip. With EMI, you can pay for flight, hotel or train in monthly installments over a period of 3 to 9 months (depending on the tenure selected) instead of paying all at once.
So, how do I pay using this new payment option – EMI?
It’s really simple. Just click on the payment option ‘Pay with EMI’ to make your payment. At the moment you can pay with EMI only using your credit card.
Which credit cards can I use?
We currently support credit cards from HDFC, ICICI, Standard Chartered
What are the tenure options or over how many months can I make my payment?
You can select from 3, 6 or 9 months payment option. This means you can make your payment in 3 equal installments over 3 months, 6 equal installments over 6 months or even 9 equal installments over 9 months.
Are there any special fees I need to pay?
You’ll need to pay only a one time Bank processing fee which varies depending on your total amount. The processing fee will be displayed on the “Pay with EMI” screen.
Do I need to pay interest on this payment?
No. Your payment is completely interest free regardless of tenure.
Will the credit limit on my credit card reduce?
Yes. The credit limit on your card is blocked till the amount is cleared.
Will I get reward points on this payment?
You will need to check with your bank if you’re eligible for reward points or not.
By what name will the payments appear in my monthly statements?
The name on statement will be CLEARTRIP TRAVEL SERVICES PVT LTD.
What happens if I close the credit card account in the middle of my tenure?
In the unlikely event that you want to close your credit card account in the middle of your EMI tenure, you will be asked to clear the entire amount due before the card account is closed.
Can I prepay the remaining amount in the middle of my tenure?
Yes, you can prepay the pending amount. No pre closure fee will be charged.
What if I cancel my ticket in the middle of my tenure?
If the ticket is eligible for a refund, the EMI is cancelled and the paid amount is reversed to the card account. Please note that the processing charges will not be refunded and payment is subject to the cancellation charges as given in the flight booking policy.
Are all bookings eligible for payment by EMI?
Bookings of Rs. 2,000 and above are eligible for a 3 month EMI term. Bookings of Rs. 3,000 or more can choose from 3, 6 or 9 month EMI term. Any booking under Rs. 2,000 is not eligible for paying in equal monthly installments. This minimum fare does not include the processing fee.
If I book multiple tickets on EMI and cancel 1 ticket, what would happen?
  1. HDFC Bank: Cleartrip will send the refund back to the Bank for the single ticket after deducting the statutory charges. HDFC bank will cancel the entire EMI amount for remaining tickets and charge you for the same at one go.
  2. ICICI Bank: Cleartrip will send the refund back to the Bank for the single ticket after deducting the statutory charges. ICICI bank will cancel the EMI for single ticket and adjust the same in the outstanding balance. The balance 2 tickets will continue in EMI.
  3. Standard Chartered Bank: In case of Cardholders of Standard Chartered Bank, we would request you to please get in touch with the Bank on the same.
If I cancel all the tickets I have booked, what would happen?
  1. HDFC Bank: In such scenario, Cleartrip will send the refund back to the Bank for the all tickets after deducting the statutory charges. HDFC bank will cancel the entire EMI amount and charge balance outstanding at one go.
  2. ICICI Bank: In such scenario, Cleartrip will send the refund back to the Bank for the all tickets after deducting the statutory charges. ICICI bank will cancel the entire refund amount and balance outstanding will be continue in EMI.
  3. Standard Chartered Bank: In case of Cardholders of Standard Chartered Bank, we would request you to please get in touch with the Bank on the same.
