A fare alert is a tool to help users keep track of airfare fluctuations through periodic email notifications, and thereby save big by making better decisions on the best time to buy or best time to fly.
You can set a fare alert for your chosen sector and travel date, and we would send you regular emails with the cheapest daily fare for those dates, best flight option, fare history over the past 2 weeks, and a calendar with the cheapest fares in your chosen month of travel.
You can set a fare alert from either the flight search results page (see image below) by clicking on the icon 'Set a fare alert', or from www.cleartrip.com/alerts
Simply fill in the details in the form, the frequency with which you'd like to receive alert emails (Daily email, Bi-weekly emails on Monday and Friday, and Weekly emails on Monday), and click on 1Set Alert'. It's that simple!
Once the alert is set successfully, you would see the following message:
Set a fixed date alert if you know the travel date and are looking for the best date to buy in order to get the cheapest fare. Set a 'Flexible date' alert if you are looking for the best date to fly in a particular month. Finally, the 'Holidays' is best used if you are looking to fly during one of the listed public holidays in India.
Fixed date alerts can be set for the next 11 months, while Flexible date alerts can be sent for any one of the upcoming three months.
The fare history graph helps users determine how fares for your chosen travel date have been varying over the past two weeks.
For example, in the below case, the Fare History graph indicates that the cheapest air fare for travel on 26th March from Mumbai to New Delhi have increased from Rs. 1000 (if booked on 28-Jan) to Rs. 2000 (if booked today, on 4-Feb). If the same was booked on 3-Feb, then the price would have been Rs. 1500.
We hope by looking at these trends, users can make more informed decisions as regards the best time to book their flights.
Towards the end of the fare alert email, you can get links to edit or unsubscribe from an alert. Clicking on these links will enable you to edit the alert (change travel dates and email frequency) or unsubscribe from the alert.
