12780 - Goa Express

The Goa Express (12780) is a superfast train that operates on a daily basis. It connects Vasco da Gama in Goa to Hazrat Nizamuddin in New Delhi. It is a high priority train, particularly for the Hubli division of the South Western Railway System.

History

The Goa Express began its maiden journey in 1987. It was introduced before the operational days of the Konkan Railways.

Goa Express (12780) starts from Hazrat Nizamuddin (NZM) at 15:00 PM and arrives at Vasco de Gama at 6:30 AM. The duration of the journey is 39 hours and 30 minutes.  During this time, the train covers a distance of 2,201 kms.

During its journey, Goa Express traverses through Maharashtra, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Haryana. It is one of the only daily trains to pass through the scenic Dudhsagar Falls via the Braganza Ghat. The train enables the passengers to partake in Goa’s natural beauty, particularly along the Londa Junction to the Vasco de Gama route.
