'One of the finest specimens of the region’s architectural style, the Padmanabhapuram Palace is a splendid palace made of wood, dating back to the 16th century. Visitors will find the interiors adorned with beautiful, intricate rosewood carvings and décor, and will also get to see magnificent 17th-18th century murals. Owned by the Rajas of the past (1550-1750 AD), the Palace also contains regal mahogany furniture, royal chairs with Chinese carvings, and stunning carved ceilings in teak. You can also see the gorgeous Durbar Hall, which comes with a shiny black floor made of materials such as jiggery lime and charcoal.'
