Sangamner in Maharashtra is busy, mid-sized city on the banks of the Pravara River. It derived its name from the confluence (or sangam) of the Pravara with the Mhalungi and Mahanuti Rivers. Surrounded by hills, rivers and greenery, all bathed in lovely, natural beauty, Sangamner is an attractive small town with several temples located at picturesque locations.

Close by is the Devgad Khandoba Mandir, picturesquely located on a small hill. This temple is steeped in history, with various legends and stories of its establishment and miracles of its patron saint passed down over lore and generations. Devotees from within Maharashtra as well as from all over the country visit this temple in droves to seek blessings of its resident deity.
The elephant-headed god, Ganesha, is much revered here and the annual Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated with much pomp and grandeur, drawing local and tourist crowds to witness the immersion of this idol in the Pravara River.
The Agneshwar Mahadev temple situated some six kilometres away from the main city center is huge draw with its tranquil natural surroundings and the gently flowing Natki River close by.
