'Purana Qila, or Old Fort, stands proudly in the midst of greenery. Constructed on the ancient site of Indraprastha, this old fort is rectangular in shape with a stretch of about two kilometers. Talaqui Darwaza, or the forbidden gateway, is the northern gate, and its design brings together the usual pointed arches of Islamic tradition with Hindu Chhatris. It was Mughal Emperor Humayun who first built the colossal gateway and walls of this fort, which was later taken forward by Sher Shah Suri. Every evening, this old fort becomes the site for a remarkable and entertaining light and sound show.'
