'Valmiki Ashram is believed to be the place where Sita lived and, consequently, had her sons, Luv and Kush, after Lord Ram exiled her. An important place in mythology, it is no surprise then that it is also a famous tourist spot. Situated on top of a hillock, the temple gives a beautiful panoramic view of the surrounding countryside. Though visited by many, it isn’t as popular a spot as many other temples in the city. Unspoilt and unvisited by the masses, the site actually preserves an aura of serenity, only adding to its appeal. Maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India, this is one temple you shouldn’t miss when in Kanpur. '
