'Every traveler to Gangtok makes it a point to visit this breathtaking glacial lake. One of the rare high altitude lakes of the country, Tsomgo can be reached after a scenic journey through mountainous terrains and major cliffs. It is situated at a height of about 12,400 ft, about 38 km from the town of Gangtok. It derives its name from Bhutia language and means ‘source of the water’. The wonderful appearance of this lake changes from season to season. People visiting this lake can take a ride on vibrantly decorated yaks and mules. There are a number of eating stalls nearby.'
