'The site, also called as Lingdum Monastery, is present at about 20 km from the town of Gangtok and is believed to be one of the best monasteries of east Sikkim. While it is relatively new as compared to the more frequently visited Rumtek Monastery, it has a vast area with picturesque surrounding and forested mountains. One will notice near the entrance a series of Buddhist prayer wheels fixed to a long wall. The Zurmang Kagyud lineage of Buddhism is followed at this monastery. Almost every section of this place is available for viewing and one can casually walk around with monks.'
