'An autonomous body, the Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology in Dehradun is affiliated to the Department of Science and Technology of the Government of India. As the name suggests, the institute undertakes detailed research related to geodynamic evolution and the process of mountain formation in the Himalayas. The intensive research is facilitated by fully equipped laboratories housing state-of-the-art technology. It also boasts of a large library consisting of about 25,000 books and journals based on geological studies.
