'An eye-catching spectacle of around 1,600 varieties of roses is what makes Chandigarh Rose Garden the largest of its kind on the Asian continent. Dating back to 1967, this 17-acre garden features 17,000 different types of plants, including the rose as well as others with medicinal properties, such as camphor, bel, harar, bahera and yellow gulmohar. In the months of February and March every year, this garden draws a large crowd of locals and tourists alike with its unique Rose Festival. Cultural festivities and contests accompanying this grand annual event make this garden a beehive of visitors during this period.'
