'Built in the 16th century and dedicated to Lord Shiva’s bull, Nandi, the Bull Temple is one of Bangalore’s most picturesque sights. The giant statue of Nandi, the bull, is what attracts most religious tourists from all over. Legend has it that the bull was growing by a few inches every year, so much so that it would have soon broken through the temple itself. Hence, Shiva’s trishul was speared through his head. Surrounded by trees and ample open space, this temple is a great place to take a break and soak in the peace and quiet after a long day. '
