'The Durgiana Temple in Amritsar is known by many names and is dedicated to Goddess Durga and her many avatars. Hindu pilgrims from across the country and even the world flock to this temple to seek the Goddess’s blessings. Lakshmi and Vishnu are other deities who are also worshiped here. The temple dates back to the 16th century, but had to be rebuilt in 1921. It was rebuilt in a style very similar to that of the Golden Temple. The Durgiana Temple is also located in the middle of a massive lake. Its intricately carved dome and marble works are nothing short of spectacular.'
