'The Allahabad Fort was built in the 16th century by Mughal Emperor Akbar. It stands near the confluence of the three rivers—two real and one mythical—and has been named by the Archaeological Survey of India as an Indian Site of National Importance. At the time that it was built, the Allahabad Fort could not be conquered—it was unmatched in its architecture and grit. Three giant galleries were surrounded by high towers to protect the kingdom. Today, the fort is used by the Army and only a certain part of it is open visitors. It is definitely worth the trip. '
