About the hotel
This is an atmospheric fort hotel that retains a feel of the centuries gone by. Built it 1421, it might be a heritage property but is updated with all modern conveniences. Rooms are spacious and decorated in a style that mixes Indian and European, with wallpaper (in some rooms), pictures of royals past and period wooden furniture.
The hilltop location ensures panoramic views of the valley below along with the Shivalik hills. At check-in, you are welcomed with tilak and garlands. Staff can organise treks, picnics and barbecues, and the hotel throws great theme parties. All meals are buffet style, with a home-cooked feel. Nature is up close parrots and peacocks can be seen from your windows, and the gardens are well tended and shaded.
