Pluses: Very nice location, good property, well maintained. Checkin was quick, room size was quite big as compared to similar hotels elsewhere, pretty comfortable stay.Minuses: Food prices are very high, breakfast spread is okay but the quality is really bad; no bed side plug points in the room; very small bathroom.

Good hotel in terms of the room and general cleanliness etc. Staff is also helpful. However food is pretty pathetic- while breakfast is OK, lunch and dinner are quite bad- poor food and poor service. You should go to Vivanta or Radisson for better food.

Varanasi was our night Halt for our drive from Delhi to Kolkata - when we got lost in the packed streets of clustered Varanasi - all we were hoping to
get to a place to crash for the night. We searched everywhere and boyy it was right there on the Mall Road - we drove in and the next thing - we find ourselves in a bigg room - boy the room was Bigg... Not a new property but good.
We told them our plan to leave early - and the duty manager offered a packed breakfast to be kept ready by 430 - thats hospitality...Nice..
Didnt get to savor their recipes - but what we got is all we needed for the night. Nice...

This hotel is one of the best in Varanasi city, if one does not wish to stay at the Ganges river bank. It only take about 15mins to go to
Ganges river by car.
The hotel is perfectly located just behind the mall with Macdonalds & Pizza Hut available. The staffs are very attentive & friendly. The rooms are spacious and big with much ample space to move about. The price is reasonable, judging that it boost about the same price as Radissons or Rivatas in the vicinity.
I had a very pleasant stay there, but would like to advice on booking tour trips with the travel desk in the lobby, operated by external tour company. They had charged me Rupees 3,500 for a morning boat ride at Ganges, where the same package only cost me Rupees 1,500 at other tour desk. Also, they charged me Rupees 1,100 for a saloon car, where the other tour desk charged me only Rupees 850 for a 7 seater MPV!
All in all, this Ramada Plaza hotel us highly recommended for stay at Varanasi, just remember to avoid the tour desk.

The Ramada Plaza is centrally located in a reasonably quiet part of Varanasi. The Ganges is approximately 15 minutes drive away (depending on traffic).
Reception staff were friendly and efficient. I was disappointed to discover that while each room has internet access via ethernet, WiFi is only available in the lobby and is charged in either hourly or daily blocks.
My room was comfortable and relatively quiet (except for a strange beeping sound like data being transferred). The bathroom was well appointed and clean. Unlike most hotels I found in India, it does not have a hose near the toilet. There was a very sparse minibar but the refrigerator appeared to not be working (it was at room temperature despite fiddling with the thermostat).
I dined at the restaurant and found the food to be very nice (unlike some reviews) and the service was friendly and efficient. When I arrived on the first day I wanted a beer and was directed to the bar (called the 'Toxic Bar'). It was styled more like a nightclub with a large video screen. I was more in the mood for somewhere more relaxed, so had a beer and left. Nevertheless, staff were friendly and attentive.
The JHV Plaza complex houses a Pizza Hut and McDonalds for anyone who might be in the mood for more Western fare. I didn't visit these, so can't comment. There is also a gift shop, jewellers and silk shop just off the hotel lobby.

On recent trip to the holy city of Kashi, I decided to stay at this hotel based on the recommendation of a colleague who was here 2 months before me.
During my last visit I had stayed at The Radisson which had been a very pleasant experience but this time around I stayed at The Ramada. Now this hotel is located just behind the JHV Mall so if you do not like the food here, or if you find it too pricey (like I did) you can go to the Mall to explore other options.
Rooms are OK, nothing too great but not bad either. Staff are friendly enough but this hotel is not in the same league as The Radisson.
