This boutique hotel is located centrally in the old french town of Pondicherry and it used to be the house of the Mayor. The hotel has a typical French architecture with large, spacious rooms and a beautiful open central courtyard. My stay with my wife was very pleasant and comfortable. The hotel staffs were very efficient and caring. We had our breakfast in the hotel restaurant and the food was really tasty.I would strongly recommend this hotel to all !!!!!

We were on family vacation and trust me decor and ambiance was so lively that we were taken a back to colonial era. I must say they have excellent sense of space management and up keeping of hotel. We were given one penthouse suite and one deluxe room. It is a great choice for family coming together to Pondichery.

My wife and I stayed at Le Dupleix for a weekend. The hotel is right in the french quarters and within 5 minutes walking distance to the beach. Location is great with lot of good restaurants nearby. Shopping areas are also within 5 minutes. Check in process was smooth and the room was cozy and comfortable. Dinner was excellent with exceptional quality of food and the outdoor restaurant offers nice ambience. It was my wife's b'day and the hotel gave a complimentary cake at midnight. Breakfast did not live upto the quality of dinner. Overall service was good.

Beautifully-designed interiors in this old, remodelled building, allowing one to stay in style, and to eat out (lovely food) in a courtyard under the stars. Everything was at is should be, and the staff were very helpful, especially the receptionist/concierge. The location is also great for walking around the White Quarter of Puducherry in the evening and taking the air on the promenade with everyone else.

Stayed here for a day during a weekend trip to Pondicherry. The place is located in the French part of town. Small boutique hotel, within 5 mins walking to the
beach. Its french themed, with a band playing in the evening during dinner. This place is dated to the colonial era, where the property belonged to a french major or someone liked that. The property was brought over by the Hidesign guys and converted to a hotel and I am guessing its currently managed by the Sarovar group.
The rooms are fairly small - but good enough. The loo and the toilet are a lil weird without proper doors, but I guess thats what adds to its charm - might not be too suitable if one is travelling with friends - can get a lil weird!
Breakfast is very very basic, and was included with the room price. But definitely can do with some additional items than just a few croissants and some eggs. As an Indian traveller, one has come to expect for more. Parking is available on the main road outside the hotel.
Would suggest travellers not to opt for the ground floor rooms, coz one has to walk thru the restaurant to reach the room, plus can get a lil loud with a live band playing right outside your door!
Would I go back.. Yes I guess I would!

The hotel is located in the heart of the French colony. The place is very quiet and away from busy streets of Pondicherry. The room gives you a feel of
an old French room with its full sized windows and doors, made of solid wood, and copper faucets and copper wash basin. Room size is sufficient for 2 people, but not more (We were 3). The bathroom and toilets are quite different with no doors to lock, just two frosted glass doors. The bathroom has a big bath tub which is large enough for 2 people. The toliet is located separately. Toilet does not have a health faucet. So as my mother was not comfortable with tissue, she found it difficult. Be careful with the bucket and mug (if you use one), the water might flow out into the room as there is no outlet in toilet !
I liked the way the hotel has been maintained, preserving the original structure of the rooms, the corridors and other common places. The staff is courteous, service is prompt. Although we had only one meal at the in-house restaurant, we were satisfied with the quality and variety of food.
