I really enjoyed our stay at this Marriott Hotel in Zurich. Although the hotel location is not the most ideal as it's a bit far from the city center (about 20-25 minutes walk), but the hotel is nicely situated by the river. The staff at the hotel are extremely friendly and courteous. We upgraded to a junior suite overlooking the river. The room was spacious and clean. The price is also reasonable too. We have access to their 24 hour lounge. The lounge is great with snacks, drinks and other amenities. The staff are very helpful as I left something behind after checking out. I called the hotel and they were able to find it and send it back to me. I appreciate their diligence in attending to the guest's needs.

I arrived very early (like 9am) and the staff could not have been more accommodating. They welcomed me, informed that the room was ready and I was upgraded to the new wing (see previous reviews). I was also invited to eat in the lounge and that I had a late check out - All delivered with a smile. The room itself was good - quiet, road facing. I love the heated floor in the bathroom. My only slight gripe is the shower head, which is not fixed so sprays at a funny angle (no big deal)....The food and the drink in the lounge was good, and the service from ALL the staff was excellent...WELL DONE TEAM - Great place..

The new part of the hotel, accessible through a sky tunnel, features an interesting design. The professionalism of the hotel staff was exceptional, making my stay comfortable and enjoyable. However, there were a couple of areas that could be improved. The maintenance of the carpet in the original, classical part of the hotel needs to be reprogrammed as it tends to catch odors, which can be unpleasant for guests. This is something that management should address to maintain the high standards of the hotel. Additionally, I was disappointed by the lack of room cleaning service during my stay, despite requesting it, once having seen it undone in the morning, midway through the day. This was definitely an inconvenience, the hotel offered me complimentary parking for my two days of stay, to make up for the oversight. Overall, my experience at the Marriott in Zurich was positive, thanks to the beautiful design, excellent service, and the proactive response to the issues I encountered. With a few adjustments, this hotel has the potential to offer an even more exceptional experience for its guests.

Overvalue for a Marriot Hotel

The hotel is located near Zurich train station, just a 10-minute walk away. However, for a Marriott hotel, one would expect superior service and accommodations. The room had a dated feel, reminiscent of the 19th or 20th century. Improvements are required for the maintenance of the room and bathroom cleanliness. The quality of sleep is very poor. You can hear your neighbours having "action" or snoring. I had to play music all night to try to get some sleep. I reported the issue to reception, but no action was taken. During the reception check-in, I felt uncomfortable because I had to wait for more than 10 minutes to be attended to. They decided to attend to a person who arrived after me. Even though I complained, they didn't care and continued the check-in process with the other guest. I am not sure why they behaved in that way. Maybe it was because I was wearing sportswear (without brand) that day. However, during the check-out, they were friendly. Maybe my Burberry clothes helped me to be considered worthy of their attention. Overall, the experience was not good.

Pros: Ten minute walk to train station. Lovely lobby. Friendly staff. Rooms were clean. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Good water pressure in shower. A/C very quiet. Their gym was nice. Rooms were an adequate size. Cons: Rooms have carpet and I’m not a fan. Could hear doors slamming early morning and late at night. Room decor is dated. In need of refurbishing. About a 15 - 20 minute walk to Old Town. Not many restaurants close to the hotel.
