The service at the buffet lunch was pathetic, the staff in a hurry served all the things in the table.. right from the soup to fresh lime soda..lol.. at the same time n then in the main course the dishes were absconding after a while. In general there was lot of chaos.n a very poor service.

Banquets experience severely dampened by the attitude of manager Mr. Sunil Bhat and inability to fulfil committments

This review is about an extremely disappointing experience with the banquets team at the Tuli Imperial, and especially the lead manager of the banquets team at this hotel - Mr. Sunil Bhat. This is regarding my booking with them for a rooftop event on 30th of March 2024, the negotiations and initial booking for which was completed on 22nd Jan 2024 (2+ months in advance). While booking the banquets team did not have published rates for the rooftop booking, and shared with me the booking rates/menu for their banquet halls in the basement. They kept insisting that rates for the rooftop are higher than other banquet halls, but never once shared with me a published list of rates. Nonetheless, the booking rates were finally negotiated directly with Mr. Bhat on phone and he himself facilitated the UPI money transfer for initial booking - with final booking pending for later with remaining amount payment as per the booking. However, when I went personally to the hotel on March 16th (14 days prior to the event), Mr. Bhat simply could not recall any rate negotiations and any booking. He remained adamant that the rates at which initial booing was done are simply not doable for a roof top booking. A member of his own team attempted to explain & remind to him conversation, negotiations and payments done on 22nd Jan. However, Mr. Bhat simply dismissed his team member saying that he must have made a mistake and the booking is simply not doable. Later, even after I had showed him the communication records, calls records and WhatsApp conversation - Mr. SUNIl BHAT's did not accept his mistake nor did he show any remorse for creating the confusion few days before our event. On top of it, he behaved as if he was doing us a favor by letting us use his own property by saying "IF YOU SAY YOU'VE NEGOTIATED THE RATES, YOU CAN TAKE THE VENUE, BUT IF YOU ASK ME I CAN'T RECOLLECT GIVING YOU THE VENUE FOR THOSE RATES"... Being a senior person in the hospitality industry, this is just not the attitude you expect from someone at his position. And this is just not a single isolated incident, multiple people whom I know made banquet booking previously with Tuli Imperial have specifically mentioned Mr. Bhat's attitude a big dampner in their booking experience previously. The disappointment doesn't stop there. While all the final booking & payment was completed, I had specifically asked for the venue to be cleaned and cushions in gazebo to be cleaned (recorded in the booking form sent by Tuli Imperial - first image shared with this review). However, despite that cushions at the venue were grossly unclean (can be seen in 2nd & 3rd image), whereas as tables were not even looked at. One of the tables had leftover bone pieces on them, which is a gross miss from the housekeeping (see the 4th image). Even the floor was cleaned in between the function which was highly embarrassing for my family as a host (see the 5th image posted). Even as simple as LED decorative lighting was not fixed properly and was jist hung up without any proper finesse (see the last image). Despite complaining directly to Mr. Sunil Bhat, he did not have the courtesy to personally look into this. Overall I have simply want to say, the banquets manager Mr. SUNIL BHAT carries a hefty attitude due to his age and time in the industry, and perhaps due to an assumed sense of superiority and a false sense of being indispensable. But the work that is delivered DOES NOT back the attitude that Mr. Sunil Bhat displays. Finally but most importantly, I have to thank the rooftop restaurant staff, as they went out of their way to make guests comfortable despite the unfortunate thunderstorm we had to bear towards the end of our event.
