Staying in room 551, an upgraded business room. The radiators are on, despite the room temperature being set to cool. The radiators are so loud they can be heard from the bathroom. When calling reception they didn’t seem to care, saying the only option is to downgrade. No maintenance is on site, and no manager to complain to is on site either.

We had a lovely meal out of the hotel the previous night but were leaving very early the next day for the airport. Ate at the lobby bar. Anil was very attentive and the food was great. Lovely place. Great view. Recommend the mussels and the local beer.

Wonderful hotel, with comfy beds and terrific breakfasts! Rooms were clean and quiet, beds and pillows were very comfortable. Nice towels, lots of hot water, flat screen tv, and space to store clothes. Exceptional help from Venkelind at front desk, who showed me two rooms to chose from when our reserved room did not work out. Kudos to her! My only recommendation to the hotel is that the ventilation system be cleaned, because I experienced sinus congestion in the hotel, which cleared when I went outside. We so enjoyed the free Opera tour, and walking to the Munch and National Museums. The National Museum collection is extensive and wide-ranging. Could take two days to see it all. Food at Munch Museum very good, especially shrimp salad. Hotel breakfast buffet delicious with so many offerings. Fresh melon and smoothies, omelets and croissants. Only complaint is that the bacon is undercooked here, not crispy. Staff exceptionally nice and helpful. The tap water is delicious, no need for bottled water.

This hotel is in an excellent location in Oslo right next to the main train station. It is easy to walk to all the main tourist sites from here. Standard rooms are a bit on the small size and could have been a little cleaner (hence only giving 4 stars). The breakfast is a highlight and definitely worth it. Amazing selection of food and drinks to set you up for the day. I would recommend a stay at this hotel.

Thon Hotel Opera has a perfect location for visiting the city of Oslo and its main attractions without stress. Just a two minute walk from central train station in the heart of Oslo. My room (no 640) was very well appointed and spacious, equipped with everything you could. Scrupulously clean and quiet for a good night sleep. Heated bathroom floor and a nice view from the room. The breakfast spread was plentiful with everything you could ever want. The checkout process was seamless and hassle-free. Overall, a nice experience. Regards Svein-Magne Tunli from Bergen, Norway.
