Our recent stay at The World Backwaters, Alleppey was nothing short of magical. Nestled on the serene banks of the Vembanadu Lake, this property is a true hidden gem that offers everything one could ask for in a peaceful getaway — scenic beauty, tranquility, thoughtful hospitality, and plenty of opportunities to relax, unwind, and create lifelong memories. Arrival & First Impressions From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the charm of the place. The reception area itself is designed with such taste and architectural elegance that it sets the tone for what's to follow. We were warmly welcomed with a refreshing welcome drink, which was just perfect for the tropical weather and immediately made us feel at ease. The check-in process was swift and efficient. The staff at the reception were not only professional but also extremely warm and well-informed. They guided us personally to our room and took the time to explain all the hotel facilities, meal timings, and complimentary offerings in detail. Room Upgrade & Stay Experience To our surprise and delight, seeing our enthusiasm and appreciation of the property, the staff upgraded our stay to a beautiful room with a private pool — a gesture we deeply appreciated. The room was spacious, tastefully decorated, and equipped with all modern amenities, offering the perfect blend of privacy and comfort. Having a private pool to ourselves really elevated the entire experience. One of the most memorable moments was enjoying evening tea by the poolside, overlooking the lake at sunset — a truly picture-perfect experience that felt like a scene straight out of a romantic travel magazine. Culinary Delights The culinary experience here deserves a special mention. We were fortunate to interact with Mr. Abit, the Executive Chef, who was not only warm and welcoming but also extremely passionate about food. He offered us some mouth-watering snacks with tea as a complimentary gesture, and his knowledge of the local cuisine added depth to our dining experience. The dinner and breakfast spreads were outstanding — thoughtfully curated and rich in variety, catering to a wide range of tastes and preferences. A heartfelt thanks to Chef Pratheesh Prakash, the humble and talented Head Chef, who was present during all the meals, interacting with guests, sharing insights, and taking genuine feedback. It’s rare to see such dedication to ensuring guests enjoy every bite. Some standout dishes we absolutely loved include: a, Stew and Appam b. Traditional Fish Curry c. Pancakes and Set Dosa d. Carrot Cake, Danish Pastry, and Grape Soufflé from the dessert spread The attention to detail in both flavor and presentation was top-notch. Activities & Facilities The property is more than just a place to stay — it's an experience in itself. We spent a wonderful day cycling around the lush premises, trying our hand at archery, and simply walking through the beautifully landscaped gardens and lakeside paths. The environment was so immersive that we honestly forgot to step outside the property! Additional facilities include: Ample parking space Kids' play area / sports arena Cozy reading corner Well-stocked toiletries that were replenished daily The entire staff was courteous, proactive, and always ready to help with a smile. The property is really nice and well maintained. Rooms are just more than premium. Staffs are very much cooperative and service is also very quick. Foods also taste delicious.

We stayed for 2 days and it was surprisingly excellent. We enjoyed a lot. One thing I would like to tell is “The staffs”. Each staffs were very humble and welcoming. Always ready to answer queries, even they will be coming and asking if we need anything, these kind of things make the huge difference as compare to other hotels.
