The place is really nice and great to sociallize with strangers. The food was great and not expensive and the mansion has a very homey feeling. The best thing about this place are the receptionists hash-hash and linda who are so nice and friendly and to me are the best reason to stay in the mansion. Very recommended

Visited the mansion in mid December 2019 with my partner stayed in non-dormitory room upstairs that appeared to be okay before we slept! I woke after second night and my partner had been badly bitten by unfriendly bedbugs. We found That staff Were unhelpful on sites and information for this fantastic city. Wi-Fi was particularly weak in the room and it appeared that the mansion was a cash cow and no money was being redirected to look after the facilities. Great location however many Detractors ....

Tried to check in with little success. We noted that we'd arrived around 1pm, but when we arrived, no one was around besides an old man that spoke no english, ended up having to call someone who then sent someone else to us, we waited 20mins to be greeted. Wasn't the friendliest greeting either, no tour of the place, just unclear directions of where our rooms would be. Despite this, the rooms them selves were adequate, the place waa relatively clean. Breakfast was fantastic though. Good selection and we didnt have to wait too long, decent prices too.

A very old house/mansion turned into a hostel. Very neatly maintained. We booked a bunk bed room and it was very comfortable. Bathrooms and toilets were clean as well. Art and antiques are so beautiful. If not for stay, one must visit to just look at this mansion. Homely environment, but might not be suitable for kids (depends from person to person) , mostly a hippie kind of; but we had two kids and it wasn’t a problem at all. They also have a good menu, There are few tiffin centers close by which have good South Indian food and coffee bandis.

WE were a group of 8 senior citizens, WE enjoyed our stay, ambiance. The manager was very helpful to guide us, order our food from "Swigy". Since Westerns are their main source of revenue, more attention was given to them. Anyway since were a group on the way to Coonoor we enjoyed the overnight stay
