This place is in a terrible location, the taxis aren't allowed to go near the streets. There was constant construction works going on. There was no one there when I went to get breakfast, so therefore didn't get any. There was no toilet paper and they never supplied it after asking them twice. I had to pay after cancellation. Terrible experience.

This hotel was filthy, don’t stay here ..the sheets and pillows and bedding were filthy and stained and so disgusting we slept in our clothes and got out of there at first light after one night ...the roof top area was filthy as were the restaurant plates and the tables. The wifi didn’t work in the room. After we left they tried to access my credit card without my authority despite paying cash in full satisfaction for the first night.

Absolutely Filthy. Don’t stay here. Pillows look about 20 years old, covered in stains. No toilet paper. Smell coming from drain. Wouldn’t put the cow that sits outside in it. Don’t be fooled by the roof terrace. Lots of hotels in Udaipur have a roof terrace

Clean pretty room with lovely artwork. Bed quite comfortable and shower hot. Returant food was automatically delicious (highly recommend the aubergine curry) Host friendly and fun - excellent communication before and during stay. WiFi slow.

The Little Prince Heritage Home is a lovely way to experience the authentic heart of Udaipur. It is situated across the pedestrian bridge which provides some separation from the touristy atmosphere of the pushy and busy area yet still close enough that it can be easily explored in less than a five minutes walk. The accommodations are clean and modest and reflect the original charm of Udaipur. The location means cars (4 wheelers) cannot drive you directly to the door (they won't fit on the street) from the airport (likely they will drop you at the pedestrian bridge unless you ask otherwise) but this affords you the ability for a short walk through the charming narrow street ways full of colour and experience and a personal introduction to a real neighbourhood with real citizens' homes and culture. If necessary it is definitely possible to take a tuk-tuk, just be sure to let your driver know before hand to drop you at the appropriate area (though I recommend the walk as it's more interesting). There are only seven rooms which means staff are immediately available to help you at all times with any question or problem you may have either related to your stay in the property or more importantly in Udaipur generally. The character of the living heart of Udaipur, not the touristy influx of pushy merchants and traffic, is best experienced from this location. The lounge and kitchen area offers excellent views of the Aravelli hills and Monsoon Palace and from the rooftop you can see across the lake to get the best views of city Palace of its primary facade (not possible while on the touristy side of the lake). The food is great and at market prices and when you feel like a change there are dozens of great restaurants all within a few minutes walk in the charming neighbourhood offering all options from budget to luxury to suit your tastes. Artisan crafts are of higher quality and better prices in this area as well. What really makes Little Prince Heritage Home shine however is the dedication of the staff. They are a close knit group of friends who work very hard to create a balance of privacy or attentivity depending on your personal requirements. They are happy to immediately meet your needs, or give you space, depending what you ask (or don't ask) for. They will go beyond the normal requirements of a 'business hotel' to help you with common and not-so-common traveller queries whether it be simple requests like where to go, when to go, how to go to local attractions both on and off the beaten track, or less common but often more important things like which doctors are reputable, lawyers or notaries and how to manage the paperwork, arranging itineraries for onward trips and tourism, how to recharge your SIM/data, assistance with purchasing specialty goods and evaluation of prices to avoid scams and price gouging, On several occasions they took hours out of their work day to bring me around the city (at no cost) to make sure I could complete necessary administrative tasks to continue my work/travels; an excellent service for digital nomads or professionals who spend a great deal of time travelling but who also want to experience authentic local culture along the way. A friend of mine was stranded in Malaysia and the staff assisted me for hours at 3am in order to resolve the problem, including finding alternative means of financing in India which can be quite tricky for foreign travellers. They are available 24/7 and deserve great respect for the hard work that they do, This kind of help is invaluable for international travellers and makes it laughable that some pretentious guests may complain about superficial "problems". Breakfast is a great time to meet the other travellers, most of whom have interesting stories and friendly dispositions. If you are a cheap business traveller expecting a sterile, impersonal, western style hotel that will cost ten times the price, then this is not the place for you. If you are an open minded domestic or especially international traveller looking for comfortable, personalised, authentic and helpful accommodations then The Little Prince is absolutely perfect. I have been travelling continuously for professional reasons for more than 2 years, living in accommodations from desert sand to the most expensive five+ star hotels on the planet, in 34 countries ranging literally from the most to least developed, and The Little Prince stands out in my mind as the most pleasant I've experienced in all the hundreds of places I've stayed. I lived there nearly a month and specifically readjusted my work schedule in order to return again in the very near future. Very highly recommend. "Home" is not a euphemism - You can be family here.
