the pool is under renovation so that was a big blow back plus they had lot of traffic during breakfast and not able to handle the guest, hospitality can be better , staff was not attending the tables properly. I have had better experience at ITC and Marriot than Taj.

We had a wonderful stay at Taj Exotica Resort & Spa, Goa. The staff were very responsive and warm, and the villas were amazing — it truly felt like staying in the lap of nature. A special thanks to Narmin at the kids’ area, who was so kind and caring. We could leave our kids with her without worry, and they still miss her! Dear Taj Exotica Goa Team, I recently had the opportunity to stay at your property for 3 nights with my family, and I would like to share some honest feedback regarding our experience. As someone who has always admired the Taj brand for its impeccable service and hospitality, this visit, unfortunately, left us disappointed on several fronts 1. Check-in Experience – Extremely Disappointing • While we were welcomed in a traditional Goan style — a touch we truly appreciated — the check-in process soon turned sour. • Despite one night being paid in full in advance and credit card details shared for the remaining stay, I was repeatedly asked to make immediate payment on arrival. • I had clearly informed the team that the balance would be settled later in the day using Taj vouchers. Still, the staff insisted on upfront payment and demanded to see the vouchers — even though we were visibly tired after travel and accompanied by young children. • What was especially concerning was that the staff member took photographs of the vouchers including the PIN, raising serious questions about data security and privacy. • After escalating the matter to a senior member of your team, we were finally allotted a room — but only after a delay of over 3 hours (we arrived at 12 PM and checked in around 3:30 PM). No refreshments or apologies were offered during the wait, which added to the discomfort. This kind of treatment was unexpected and frankly shocking, particularly from a Taj property. In all our previous stays with Taj — across cities like Udaipur, Bangalore, and Delhi — we’ve never encountered such lack of professionalism and courtesy. 2. Room and Property • The property itself is undeniably beautiful — lush greenery, scenic walkways, and a peaceful ambiance that’s perfect for a family retreat. • The rooms were clean, well-maintained, and aligned with expectations for a resort in this category. • Housekeeping staff were polite and responsive to requests, and turndown service was handled well. 3. Restaurant and Dining Experience – Below Par • The breakfast buffet was underwhelming and did not reflect the quality or variety expected from a luxury resort. Many items lacked flavor, and the selection felt repetitive and uninspired. • The dinner experience was even more disappointing — both in terms of food quality and service. • At multiple meals, we had to ask several times for basic things like cutlery, water, or a clean table. Even when flagged to the restaurant manager, the response was slow and indifferent. • Some staff members displayed an arrogant or disinterested attitude, which significantly affected the dining atmosphere. • That said, I would like to acknowledge the beachside restaurant team, who were warm, courteous, and attentive — the only positive dining experience during our stay. 4. Serious Safety Concern – Lack of Emergency Communication Support • On multiple occasions (at least 3 to 4 times), we were locked out of our villa due to the room key card not working. While such technical issues can happen, what was truly alarming was the complete lack of any means to communicate with the hotel staff during such an emergency. • Our villa was located quite far from the main building, and during one instance, it was heavily raining, and I was stranded outside the room as my card was not working waiting for the rain to subside. • There were no intercoms, no help buttons, no visible signage, or staff nearby — leaving us with no immediate support. Eventually, I had to look up the property’s phone number on the internet and call through my mobile phone to seek help. • Thankfully, the issue was eventually resolved — but this experience was distressing and frankly unacceptable for a property of this caliber. • I strongly urge the management to implement emergency contact options (such as call buttons, emergency intercoms, or a mobile-based internal helpline) especially for guests staying in more isolated villas. 5. Overall Hospitality and Staff Training – Major Gaps • One of the hallmarks of Taj has always been its hospitality and warmth, which seemed largely missing during our stay. • Staff training appears inconsistent — from front desk operations to restaurant service — and it’s clear that some team members are not aligned with the Taj ethos. • A luxury experience is defined not just by the property but by how guests are treated. Politeness, attention to detail, and respect go a long way — and unfortunately, these were lacking in many interactions during our visit. — a small gesture that usually leaves a lasting impact. 6. Additional Observations • Cleanliness across public areas such as the poolside , I understand you guys are renovating but still you can do better 7. Value for Money – Not Justified • Given the premium pricing and the brand name, the overall experience fell well short of expectations. • We found other nearby resorts offering far better service and hospitality at a more reasonable cost — without compromising on luxury or comfort. In Conclusion While the property has its natural charm and some pockets of good service, the overall hospitality experience was far below the standard associated with the Taj brand. I hope this feedback will be taken in the spirit intended — to help you identify the serious gaps and take corrective steps. We chose Taj Exotica Goa for a memorable family vacation, but sadly, the experience left us with more frustration than joy. I sincerely hope you will prioritize service excellence going forward and work towards restoring the trust and loyalty that guests place in the Taj name.

If you are visiting with your family, please make sure to ask for room near pool area or near food area. The property is big and even of you get premium rooms, you will not be able to utilize it because farther rooms from pool and food area have almost no access to it due to carts in hotel being always occupied. The carts in the hotel are lesser than expected - so if you are staying near 500-600 blocks of rooms, expect a walk of 600-800 Mtrs towards reception area where, kids area, pool area and food is served. Or be ready to wait for 35-40 minutes for the cart to arrive to take you any where. Not at all recommended with old age parents or younger kids who want to enjoy the resort. Unless you want to just stay in the room, this placement of farther rooms won't help you in relaxed holiday at this Taj property
