The hotel which is very busy with Chinese tourists now, is getting a bit run down. We had to move from one room to another because the room smelled of smoke. The next room had a broken refrigerator and ripped curtains. Services are overall very good. Food at the Italian resurface t and room service breakfast were very good. The view is wonderful and it has a good location, right across from Icon Siam.

One rude non-Thai staff member in a chef’s coat with a napoleon complex ruined the stay. The hotel is beautiful, the arrival at midnight with a small child after a long travel from the US was seamless and the Thai staff has unparalleled hospitality and service. The breakfast was spectacular and if you do book this hotel you will NOT be disappointed. Great live music and the food is AMAZING. Everything was delicious. The location is perfect. You’ll be amazed by the views and it is directly on the river. Excellent pools and gym. I do highly recommend the hotel and the Thai staff. However, one person left such a bad impression on us, that it indeed ruined the stay and I was glad we were checking out shortly thereafter. I was having breakfast with my family, celebrating a momentous occasion. My three year old son had finished breakfast and was playing on the stairs outside, bothering no one and in my full view. This man was watching us from a breakfast table close to the other hotel guests, also having breakfast. I’m not sure why he was allowed to dine with the paying guests: if he is allowed, all staff members should be allowed as well as the Thai employees, or all hotel employees should dine in their dining areas respectively; I’m not sure why this “napoleon” was allowed to dine among guests and bother us. Apparently, he felt the need to come over to our table overlooking the river, interrupt me while I was eating, and condescendingly address me in Thai, I’m not Thai by the way, and tell me that I need to control my child and he needs to sit down and eat breakfast with his family. He had upset my child by yelling at him, who was crying at this point, and the man caused a scene by hovering over me at my table and even the international guests at the table next to us were uncomfortable, who we had been previously talking with merrily. Why was this man allowed to come harass us? He’s not the local police, not the general manager and not the owner of the hotel. No guest had complained and it was a brief moment that my child stepped away from our table. This employee was enjoying the privilege of dining with paying guests because he is not Thai and this injustice must be corrected. I hope you can entirely replace this employee or keep him away from the hotel guests due to his port etiquette and unpleasant demeanor. If not for his unnecessary involvement, the stay would been absolutely faultless.

Not A Pleasant Stay & Experience

Had stayed at this property many years back. Wanted to experience what it is like after more than 10 years. It was a complete disappointment. Not worth the effort trying to experience. My Lifetime Titanium Elite Status was not recognised. The rooms were outdated and the furnishings were old and run down. The service was equally terrible. Since there were no Ice Dispensing Machines, I Called down for a bucket of Ice. Was told that I have to pay THB128.00 for a bucket of Ice. This was definitely not a Thai hospitality that I had been used. Breakfast was pathetic, with a very limited spread and does not qualify to be called an International Hotel. Executive lounge was no different. With limited food and alcohol beverage selection. The only advantage of this hotel, is that it is located by the river and river taxis are a convenient commute. There are also quite a number of street food outlets within walking distance, which are 1,000 times better than the food served at the hotel.

This would be my second time staying at this hotel. Yes, the rooms are a bit outdated. Other than that I always enjoyed my stay. They offer free shuttle boat service to iconsiam and a pier. This service is a plus and very convenient. The rooms do offer amazing views of the Chao Phraya River. I found it entertaining just watching the endless supply of boats just passing by. Especially at night with all the lights. I highly recommend the Breakfast Buffet. They have an amazing array of dishes to choose from. The price is reasonable but can go up around the holidays, as expected. Will definitely book this hotel again next time I visit Thailand.
