This was a very nice hotel. The location was excellent to walk to many famous attractions. We walked around the entire city. It was nice they gave you complimentary drinks in the mini fridge for being a Marriott member. The roofdeck was very cool cons: roofdeck pool was only a dipping off very small area that was closed when we were there. It’s not a pool at all. The drinks were super overpriced at the roofdeck. My husband’s scotch was almost 30 euro. Our room was very clean but tiny. There wasn’t any coffee except an instant coffee pot. Very little room to put our things. The breakfast was good and the restaurant was very good. Definitely very American style breakfast. We had a terrible time getting hot water like other reviews I saw. They came to the room and told us it was fixed and left wine and cookies, which was so nice. Unfortunately it was not fixed and our heat was not working properly either. They came and fixed the water but then it stopped working the next morning shower time. Oh well. We still had a good time. We asked for compensation since we were there four nights, they would not give us a credit at all but did give us Marriott points they would give us a night at the lowest tier Marriott but it was better than nothing. So all in all if you have points I would definitely stay here, but ask for a larger room and one with hot water!

The hotel is quite fresh, the rooms of Prestige type are large, it is quiet inside as the hotel has good soundproofing, including the windows. The toiletries are good. There is ample choice at breakfast. What left a bitter taste in my mouth is the lack of attention to a client. My birthday was during our stay at this hotel. Upon check-in, the front desk manager noticed it and asked me what kind of wine I prefer and made a note in their system. Guess what, on my birthday there was nothing from the hotel, not even a congratulatory card. İf this is not their general practice, why asking about wine preferences at all...

If this is an hotel under Mariott and a 5 star hotel sorry but the score is poor . Many things to be improved . Barcelona is a very international place but for breakfast there is no Asian corner why? In Asia we always see Asian and Western breakfast but here only Western . Add some simple noodles soup and that will help . There was no turn down service . For a 5 star that's a must The TV channels are poor with no cha bel to see F1 or Motor GP . Other 4 star hotels we have been in Spain have them , why a 5 star does not ? The design of the room is not very clever . Lost lots of space with a huge minibar closed space while the minibar is much smaller than the space allocated . Very limited closet space with the safe deposit box and tea facility inside the closet . The bathroom design with the bathtub partition makes it even smaller The pillows are not comfortable . One is very flat and two very thick . Should have a soft and a hard one like any other 4/5 star hotel Staff very attentive Location good

Everything at this hotel is high quality and thought of before hand for you. Included with the room is a complimentary mini bar and travel necessities already in the room in case you have forgotten anything. Bed was super comfortable. Hotel is quiet and very clean. Staff is super friendly. Highly recommend this hotel.

My husband and I just spent 4 lovely nights at the Renaissance Barcelona (2nd time). So many positives for travelers. Every person working there seems to genuinely enjoy their job which is so refreshing! Several very impressive young employees went out of their way to be kind and accommodating. We had enjoyable and engaging conversations and their English was flawless. Ålvaro greeted us at breakfast each morning. He was always polite and professional, and several times when he had a moment, he came over to talk with us. Merijn, from the Netherlands, delivered ice to our room a few times. We had a very nice conversation with him as well. His communication skills and ambitions are quite admirable. Beatrix, our server at breakfast and in the lounge, was delightful to chat with and get to know. She’s intelligent, interesting, and charming. When she learned that we were starting to plan for the El Camino, she came back to us with information and guidance from her mother who hikes the Camino every year! We left our Renaissance experience believing that with young people like these 3 employees, there is great hope for our world - not kidding! The entire Marriott staff was excellent and made our 4-day stay an exceptional way to end our 6 weeks in Europe. I don’t have everyone’s names but a definite shoutout also goes to Carla, our server at breakfast, Daniel, the bellman who is like a friend (we remembered each other from our last trip to Barcelona 12 years ago!), and Danielle at the front desk. Marriott, you know how to choose your employees to represent your hotels and offer guests a five-star experience! Lastly, we have Platinum Elite status, it was amazing how much special attention we received. We always choose the Marriott brand when we are able, wherever we travel in the world. We are already planning on coming back to Barcelona and staying at the Renaissance! Thank you, gracias, grazie, merci!!
