The approach to this hotel is through narrow lanes resembling slums on both sides. On the day we went, the reception was being renovated. It was like we had entered a workshop. We were first shown a room that had two rooms in it, one of them had a circular bed. The paint was peeling off the walls and the woodwork was broken. The bathroom was dirty. When we protested, we were shown another room, this had two large double beds side to side. Again, the wall had mould and the bathroom filthy with broken glass etc. Mirrors had started colouring from the edges. We began to lose patience and the hotel staff also got very nervous. So they took us around to show us other rooms. In two occasions, the person barged into rooms where guests were staying by unlocking the doors. By this time, we had had it and asked for cancellation of our booking and they readily agreed and refunded the booking amount. The hotel doesn't have parking. So if you get your car, you got to park on the road. The neighbouring houses are obviously troubled due to this. Also on one side there is a drain. There's no valet parking here and the people are quite helpless in parking. So do not go by the photos. They probably were taken the day the hotel was built.

If you value any part of your enjoyment of your trip....Dont book this hotel...Raj residency has one the the worst staff in pondicherry where they treat you as bad as they can...they say parking is available but car can be parked in road only...and even tat you hav to take permission from the staff they said or they threatened to damage my car if it is not in the location...they suggest...the behaviour of one staff sudan who i communicated so respectfully , but in return got angry faced answers with wat u r going do about it attitude...after this it is entirely upto you whether you want take the risk of spoiling your trip for these ppl who care less about hospitality and dont care about their guests

I would like to express my gratitude to Reswan, Shyam and the housekeeping staff (unfortunately I don’t remember their names). I have had a lovely experience. I didn’t spend too much time in room, as most of the time I was busy discovering the vicinity. My room was comfortable and clean. I love ponduchery and felt at home while walking on the street with the French shops and bakery around. Love and peace from Mauritius Island.

We had a wonderful time at this hotel. We stayed for 3 days here from 31st Dec to 1st Jan and then checked in again on 3rd Jan on our return journey. We were so satisfied with the location,services,ambience and staff that we decided to stay again on our return journey.The manager Mr.Shyam, room boy Mohan, housekeeping staff Valarmathi & Malar were all very cordial, friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The buffet breakfast spread has a lot of variety. The amenities are also very good. The only drawbacks are lack of restaurant and limited parking space.On the whole, one of the best family-friendly hotels in Pondicherry.
