My girlfriend and I spent about a week at Mishra Guest House. The rooms were good enough for the average budget traveler, and even had a nice balcony view of the Ganges River. Decent Wi-Fi and a great staff that was very friendly, trustworthy, and reasonable when it came to making payments.

The deal at Mishra Guest House was nice. They explained the areas of greatest interest in the city and even offered us a tour. They also guided us in local prices, to know how far to bargain. It is not the best accommodation, but the cleanliness is acceptable and it is very well located. Small terrace in the rooms overlooking the Ganges.

I payed for the most expensive room they had- 1000 rupees approx a night. The place is filthy. The sheets had stains and pigeon poo on them, plenty of bugs, ants in the bathroom. The shower had brown water coming out. The tube under the washbasin wasn’t connected so brown stuff came out. The ventilator was so loud that I had to turn it off and die of heat. No AC and the wifi hardly worked in the room. Only plus is the view from the roof that’s it - don’t stay there.

If you are looking for a cheap place for 300 rupees a night this is the right place for you however the weather for the month of January is very cold, the rooms have too much humidity especially the simple rooms and the water is very cold even though the Guest house claims to have "warm" water however the attention is very good and has an excellent view on the terrace of the Ganges river.

Quit good guest house. The best is the rooftop with a view on the ganga river. Not the best view, but a view. Check the room before say yes. One of them have no windows on outside and is really really full of moisture. Not good for sleep, i asked for change, and they gave me an other.
