Honestly, me and my boyfriend were dreading staying at this hotel after some of the reviews. The hotel staff was lovely, the rooms were clean, however most of our concern was based around the area it is in. Don't get me wrong, it is not pleasant, however no where near as bad as described. If you have thick skin, are not sensitive to drugs, homeless people, or live in a city yourself - you will be absolutely fine! We were not bothered or spoken too by any of those surrounding the hotel during the day, we did feel slightly uneasy on an evening so we did uber in and out for the 2 nights we stayed. Basically, if you want a cheap clean hotel, with breakfast WHICH WAS GREAT and only a 10-20 walk from the centre, 25 min walk from the acropolis - this hotel is for you!! We also found the graffiti very cool. I appreciate this is only our experience and I am not taking away from what anyone else is saying but don't be too put off.

So the hotel itself is really nice. The staff is super friendly and welcoming and help you in any way they can. The downside is where it’s located. My friend and I are both young women so it was scary sometimes but it’s no problem really. The homeless people don’t talk to you at all, they do look at you though and there are a lot of men and almost no women. The “scary” part of the street is really short. Not even 2 minutes and then you are in an area that feels safe! So don’t let it scare you away.

From a trip of Europe including Itlay and France 🇫🇷, Greece 🇬🇷 Athens was the last destination of my trip and it was the best among the above two because the very historical and calculated city and very much economical city as well. Hiking in Mount Lycabettus was incredible, you can watch and see all the city from that mountain ⛰️. Which was love ❤️. Best part is halal food especially Pakistani and indian food available and Mas jid Omoni square near Marina hotel ❤️

Staff friendly except for grey haired female receptionist who never spoke to me again after i asked her why the Sky and BBC news channels in English were not working..you had to ask reception to have your room cleaned as they wouldnt bother. Generally clean but rooms and bathrooms in need of upgrade...due to bad sewerage smell...we asked them to put bleach down the drains but cleaner said they werent allowed due to health and safety...hotel is surrounded by junkies shooting up outside hotel and homeless sleeping rough...not safe for female travellers.very intimidating....A few months ago they opened a mosque right next door so you'd think you were in Pakistan...filthy streets people spitting everywhere.. not nice...was told the Greeks never venture here...so a cheap hotel to stay but will never stay again..didn't feel safe..what a shame...

This hotel is in a very central area near Omonia square, but the immediate neighborhood is a bit run down and very neglected. Opposite the hotel there is a large building apparently inhabited by squatters, and the streets are dirty and depressing. The hotel rooms are fine, the lobby and the restaurant are pleasant, and there is a reasonable breakfast offered. Our room had a large terrace. There is only one very small lift and there is often waiting. Overall, a good city hotel at a reasonable price.
