This property is not a safe place. Is convenient because is close to the airport, but they have refugees people living in the property which is not a good idea staying there, the shuttle bus driver also is not driving properly. I don't recommend it at all. And the hotel staff are mean.

Dreadful hotel--if one can call it that. Service is non existent. The pool which features in photos is closed - seemingly permanently. The restaurant--buffet only--does not open until 8pm, and there is nothing nearby as the hotel is located in some kind of industrial area. The hallways are full of noise from children, immigrants/ refugees, and stranded travelers. Avoid.

I booked this hotel for clients who had a layover in Madrid. I contacted the hotel multiple times and was never given a meeting place for the shuttle even though I asked. The said you need to call when you arrive. The clients called and it says when you call option 1 go to bus/hotel stop. I could have avoided confusion of making a call if on the multiple calls I made someone gave me this info. Additionally, the clients had to pay $35 for a taxi because they said the shuttle never came and we could not get them on the phone. Despite the hotel telling me they are open 24 hrs a day, No one answered on any of the options and it kept disconnecting me. If you do go to this hotel, the actual procedure is go to bus/hotel stop which is in Terminal 1,2,4. And a shuttle is supposed to come. I do not see why it was so difficult to get this information from them, so I am sharing to make it easier for others.

This accomodation was forced on us by Iberian Airways after being stranded in Madrid mid journey to Bilbao during the recent Spain power outage. After spending 7 hours in Madrid airport Iberian Airways promised us a courtesy bus transfer to the property. After standing for 2 hours at the bus stop we gave up the on the courtesy bus service and spent a further hour in a taxi queue before finallly arriving at hotel at 2am. The property is like located in a fairly unsavoury area, rooms were clean but basic. Breakfast was nice but lunch was ordinary with buffet not replenished often enough. Staff in the restaurant were friendly but reception staff need to work on their customer service. Whilst we were glad of a place to sleep under the circumstances we would not stay here by choice.

I had the misfortune of staying here due to an Iberia flight cancellation. The first sign of trouble was when their shuttle never appeared, and we were forced to take an expensive taxi to the hotel. When we arrived, at least 150 people were lined up to check in. Elderly patrons were in obvious discomfort waiting in the 2 hour line. They could certainly use additional staffing! (Thankfully , I had a Melia loyalty card, so I was able to bypass the line. I’m grateful to Haley for her assistance at reception.) The hotel seems to cater to victims of Iberia, Red Cross sponsored refugees and youth tour groups. To be fair, the place did seem to be clean, in a concrete block, spartan type of style. It’s pretty much isolated from any stores, restaurants or shops. The dining room staff were cordial, but the food and room reminded me of my public school cafeteria. Our large guest room was reminiscent of my college dormitory, replete with bunk beds in the second bedroom. The courtyard was filled with noisy children and coughing chain smokers. The shuttle driver on the return trip to the airport was surly and unhelpful. He reduced a poor woman carrying an infant to tears, because he refused to help with her heavy luggage. Melia should be ashamed to have their name on this place, and Iberia needs to seriously reconsider its choice of hotel for displaced travelers. I couldn’t wait to
