Smells of Chibi (the cat)

Excellent WiFi connectivity and two charming cats, especially the completely white one. There are several dormitories and a few private rooms, although the latter seem to be used by local Thais as a Love Hotel. Good shower rooms too, with correctly pressurised bum guns. These are combined wet rooms and are very hygienic, although there’s only one washroom per storey - including the ground floor. The hostel is located around the corner from a couple of convenience stores and a five minute stroll from two terrific shopping centres (The Street, and The Esplanade), a forgettable night market, a fitness centre, as well as a gigantic hypermarket (The Big C) which is akin to Carrefour in the free nation of Taiwan. There is no on-street parking, which will never be a problem, but the kitchen area is limited. Although there is an electric stove which is available, the tiny common area whose space it shares only permits one person to cook at a time. That said, there is a microwave if you want to purchase a frozen vegan meal and heat it up. If you’re in Bangkok to shop the location is great, less so if you want to visit temples and the like, although the canal bus is one MRT ride away and this maritime transport can take you places neither the BTS skytrain, nor the MRT underground network can.

Stay here couple of times as the location is strategically located where the Big C mart/MRT/Huiwang night market are all within a short 5-8min walking distance. Probably one of cheapest dorm around the busy street of Rachadapisek where it is popular with star rated hotels and messages. All the rooms are well kept and clean. The only limitation isthe shower room which has got only one cater for 4-6 rooms at each floor. Overall this dorm stay is well recommended.

Had a great stay here. Place is off the party places so not much noise. Quiet neighborhood but just few minutes walk to MRT station, malls and Rod Fai night market which is amazing. I stayed in an 8 bed air conditioned dorm room with good wi-fi connection, comfortable bed and cleanliness is well-maintained too.

It was a decent stay. I did however find the staff, or 'helper' to be annoying at times. I stayed 7 nights. 4 mornings I was woken up by a staff member because he lost 1000 baht. Jumping up and down the bunk bed saying, "omg omg omg." And cursing woke me up repeatedly. You would swear he lost 100000 baht. Total drama queen. Then, he showed another guest the dorm room at 09:00AM. Which is fine. But if you're going to talk about colonization of the phillippines have respect and do it outside the room. Thirdly, i told this 'helper' or staff or whatever that i was extending but he didn't seem to pass it on. So by 01:00PM the owner is like, "oh so i guess you're checking out today?" and i look like the idiot for not telling the actual owner i was extending instead of this 'helper' guy. I didn't try the breakfast because i heard it was really bad. Owner needs to have the staff be more responsible for their noise levels as they are the loudest because they sleep in the same room as you. Not sure if he was actual staff but he was there just as long as i was and was showing guests their beds. I guess somewhere between guest and staff. Either way, he was a total drama queen over 1000 baht, talked loudly INSIDE THE ROOM while people were sleeping. TALK OUTSIDE THE ROOM. HAVE RESPECT FOR OTHER GUESTS. I'm sorry you lost money, but don't start making noise and asking me questions like, 'was there anyone else in the room last night?' So annoying.

Pro's: The staff were great when we arrived, he told us everything we needed to know and showed us to our room. We also met a volunteer staff member and a other female staff member who were also really friendly. The hostel is off the main road so we were able to get a good nights sleep, and the free breakfast is always a bonus - breakfast is simple (white bread, jam and marmalade). Theres a big mall and food court nearby which is cheap. If you're looking for a base to sleep away from the big crowds and don't mind very basic facilities then this hostel is for you. Con's: The first thing I noticed when walking in was all the clutter and mess around the hostel.. it's doesnt make the place feel very welcoming. There is no lift and we were on the 3rd floor (ok for us, but if you don't want/are unable to use stairs maybe request a ground floor room or avoid all together). I noticed that the hand towels in the communal toilet and kitchen weren't changed in our 3 days there - felt a bit unhygienic. However our room towels did get changed everyday which was nice. This hostel is very quiet and lacks a backpacker atmosphere... We're certainly not the type of people to party into the night, but a good social environment is definitely lacking here! If you're looking to be central and close to the main tourist area - then maybe this isn't the place for you. You'll be taking multiple modes of transport to reach the main city which gets expensive if you're a backpacker and defeats the object of staying somewhere cheap, and will make it difficult if you're looking for any kind of night life. The hostel is placed in a much more local area (which we liked!) but it made it difficult for us to find the hostel when we landed into bangkok in the evening as not many people spoke English (and we were using Google maps too!) But after walking up and down the streets we found it eventually - Clearer instructions on how to find the hostel would be good for future guests. Overall, this hostel is simple and cheap with friendly staff, however it's just a little bit out of the way and too cluttered for me to stay here again or to recommend.
