Jungle hut is a peaceful property located at the edge of the Nilgiris hills. It was a memorable holiday spent with my partner and our child. We all appreciate wildlife and there was plenty of bird life to see on our trip. The food on the property was good and we felt well taken care of.

Our family, consisting of seven members, spent two days and two nights at Jungle Hut; decidedly, it was one of the best holiday times we spent. The property nestles in the foothills of the Nilgiris, which stand imposingly almost within hand's reach. A large number of deer can be seen on the property --- living in perfect harmony with its inhabitants. Occasionally, wild boar flit across open spaces in small groups. At night, animal noises keep reminding you continually that you are in nature's lap. And to get hot water 24X7 in the middle of a jungle........total bliss! The food is fabulous. Without being ostentatious, rich, oily and overspiced, it is delicious and homely. Three chefs work around the clock to ensure that every guest's needs are met to her satisfaction. A chance remark during dinner on our first day was overheard by one of the staff and lo and behold! the next day we had our favourite dish --- customised to our taste --- served on our table. A Nature Walk with Rajesh was a great expereince --- educative and entertaining. But the crowning glory is the wonderful, dedicated staff who apply themselves industriously to look after the guests caringly, lovingly, and diligently. Tracy, Aniket and Gibran are names of persons we interacted with and enjoyed the healthy vibes from. We have decided we are going back again when practicable!

One of our best holidays! This place truly exceeded expectations. The drive was very pleasant through bandipur and mudhumalai forest. We were greeted by amazing views of the hills covered in mist as we entered the property. Spacious, very clean, and well equipped rooms and bathrooms offering an excellent view of the jungle beyond. We had spotted deer, wild boars, langurs and other wildlife near our room for company. It was a true jungle experience! The bird life here is simply amazing, we couldn't keep a count of the variety we spotted here, it is a nature lover's and a bird watcher's delight. The food is simple, local and very tasty with ample options to choose from, you wont be disappointed. I strongly recommend trying their in house pickles and jams, they are really good. The staff are terrific, very helpful and always smiling. A shout out to Neha, Shruthi and Aniketh for the smooth reservation process, they were very accommodating. Thank you! Jungle Hut ticks all the boxes, will definitely go back!

I stayed at Jungle Hut Resort in February with my daughter, and again in March by myself, for 4 days each time, and highly recommend it, especially if you love nature! The whole staff was excellent, the office staff was always helpful, the resort was clean, the food was delicious, the restaurant staff were always ready to assist, and the guards ensured safe walking in the dark. Rajesh, the resort's nature guide, is fantastic! I also arranged a driver, to and from Bangalore both times, through the resort, and he was perfect. I have many special diet needs, and I think I was able to eat more Indian food while I was there than in my whole 3.5 years that I’ve been in India. They were very good about making me something I could eat when they didn’t think there would be enough on the buffet for me. I used the swimming pool, and when my daughter was with me, we played ping pong. The lounge is open-air and very nice to relax in the afternoon and evenings, or to meet up if you are with a group of people. I really enjoyed just sitting outside of my room or walking around the resort, and watching the chital deer, the wild boar, the bonnet macaques and tufted gray langurs, the squirrels, and the birds! I saw 95 species of birds in the area during my 2 trips, plus another 5 species in Ooty (I wasn’t actually looking for birds the day we went to Ooty, or I’m sure I would have seen many more!). I used the resort's nature guide to take me to the Mudumali Safari and the adjacent Elephant camp, and also on many buffer zone safaris, plus a nature walk and a bird walk, all were very special experiences. Of course, you need to be interested in nature, but we ALWAYS saw things! Rajesh was VERY good at spotting! They can’t guarantee you’ll see animals, but if they are out there, he’s going to find them for you! The more safaris you can go on, the better chance you have of seeing more animals! I felt that the Buffer zone safari was just as good, if not better, than the National Park Safari. But I would recommend at least one safari in the park, as it was beautiful. We saw tigers in February (1 in the park and 1 in the buffer zone) but not in March. In addition to the animals already mentioned, we also saw elephants, sambar, gaur, dhole/wild dogs, a black-naped hare, mongoose, a blackbuck pair, a mouse deer, giant squirrels, Bengal Monitor lizards, and lots of birds!
