The fan caught fire, life risking terrible and pathetic experience with JC

I am writing this to express my deep dissatisfaction and disappointment with the experience I recently had during my stay at JC Residency Kodaikanal, booked through Agoda. I reserved a Royal Suite room, I expected a certain level of comfort, cleanliness, and professionalism which, unfortunately, were severely lacking throughout my stay. Upon arrival, I was appalled to discover a used coffee sachet inside the bedside table of my room, indicating a significant oversight in the cleanliness and maintenance of the accommodation. Furthermore, despite being mentioned about the availability of fans in the rooms, I was not provided with one. Instead, after special requests, I was presented with a pedestal fan in a deplorable condition, with a torn wire crudely taped together with insulation tape. This not only posed a safety hazard but also caused a distressing incident where the wire caught fire, putting my safety at risk. The wire caught terrible fire five minutes within it was plugged in, and i had to risk my life to pull it out of the socket. Subsequently, when I sought assistance from the reception in addressing these issues, I was met with dismissive and rude behavior from the male Front Desk assistant( I don’t quite remember his name)including the initial refusal to allow me to speak with the manager. Only after persistent pressure I was able to meet the manager, who offered a free dinner as compensation, which I refused and found to be an inadequate response given to the gravity of the situation. Moreover, I was subsequently changed to a "super deluxe room" (Room no: 103) instead of the “Royal Suite “(Room no: 203) I had originally booked, which was a total downgrade in accommodation that further compounded my disappointment. The lack of cleanliness, evidenced by the accumulation of dust in the balcony screen of the alternative room, only served to exacerbate the unsatisfactory experience. Despite the efforts of Mr. Jeyaraj, the General Manager, whom I found to be the sole beacon of professionalism and kindness amidst the chaos. He was very down to earth, although he personally tried his level best in giving me a pleasant stay, the JC residency kodaikanal could never fulfil it. Upon returning to my hometown, I lodged a complaint with Agoda detailing my experience. However, I was disheartened to learn that a person (Mr. Mahendran) from JC Residency manipulated the situation by claiming to have provided me with complementary services and dinner as compensation, which is untrue. I paid for all services used and did not receive any complimentary offerings.The lack of accountability and the manipulation of facts by JC Residency only serve to further amplify my disappointment and frustration with the entire experience. My overall impression of JC Residency remains tarnished by the series of unfortunate events that i encountered within a span of 24 hours during my stay. The terrible mental agony that I’ve been put into through this experience can never be explained. I hope that the concerned personnel would address these concerns promptly and take appropriate action to rectify the situation.

Positives : Neatly maintained and spacious rooms, hot water available 24/7 , Wifi works just fine, enough parking space inside the property, campfire with music arrangements made for evening, buffet available for breakfast and dinner with lots of options and the food also tastes good- special mention to Mr.Laxman whose hospitality needs to be called out, all staffs are polite and prompt, travel desk also available if anyone wants to hire vehicle for local sight seeing. For those who loves plants and flowers, they have maintained a good variety of them and are also selling plants. Have enough facilities to keep you engaged. All payment modes available. Negative : The property is not located in a very scenic location. So do not expect any view from the property.

We stayed in this property for 3 days i.e. 5th jan to 8 Jan. We enjoyed stay at JC residency. Check in/ Check out: Really quick check in and check out done by staff. Staff was quick and helpful. Mr Vergese is really nice person. Rooms: 1.Rooms were clean and well equiped 2. Hot water was available 3. Proper cleaning was done time to time Restaurant: 1. Restaurant was spacious. 2. Qualitiy and variaety was really nice . hygiene was maintained 3 staff was really helpful. Mr Murgan and Mrs. Ida was so nice with us. Entire staff was really good. 4. Food was really good no issue at all Other 1. Environment and ambiance was nice. 2. Property was well located and well connected. Thank you JC residency for pleasent stay.

We a family of 4 stayed in JC Residency, Kodai from 26th Dec'23-29th Dec'23 (3 Nights). The property is in a decent location and offers High Quality Service. The rooms are very spacious with garden/ courtyard view, big beds, ample sitting area in the room, 24 hours hot water and electricity. Restaurant is big. Dedicated In person restaurant crew during BK and Din. Each day the Bk and Din spread had variety of both north Indian and south Indian food. Hygienic food with no complain. Property is neat, clean and well maintained. Well maintained gardens with seasonal blooms. At night it is well lit, provision for bon-fire is there. One can enjoy a nice stroll in the courtyard post dinner. Childen's room with indoor games and dedicated play area to keep them busy. Every morning house keeping is "On -Time" to clean your rooms, refill bislery drinking water and other tea/coffee pouches. Our stay was really relaxed and enjoyable. Ample car parking.
