Worst hotel experience we have encountered. Room was clean and tidy which was a plus. Reported air conditioner leaking water on the floor had to ring them 2 days later to report it again before someone came to look at it. Breakfast everyday was the same American breakfast. Eggs sunny side up were that runny they were nearly raw. One day asked for coffee and an orange juice and was told I could have one or the other not both. No in room service or restaurant open for an evening meal which was hard as my wife has some mobility problems and the nearest restaurant was a fair walk from the hotel. Would not recommend this hotel at all. Have stayed here previously and was a great place that is why we returned but never again.

My flight would arrive in Bangkok at 6 am, so I decided to book the hotel starting from the previous day to make sure I could check in right away in the early morning. I emailed the hotel a few days before my stay to let them know I have a very "late" arrival, and got a friendly reply within a few hours. From the Ratchaprarop station on the airport rail line, it took only six minutes to walk to the hotel. While the hotel and shopping cente complex take up one whole city block, the hotel entrance is on the south side of the building. Look for Ratchaprarop 1 Alley on Google maps; the entrance is close to Ratchaprarop Road. You will enter a grand lobby and take the elevator to the 4th floor, where reception is located. Reception is only open from 6:30 am to 11:30 pm, however, security staff is present 24/7 by the entrance, and you may come and go as you please, night and day. On arrival, I was greeted by receptionist Geswimon who was very friendly and accommodating. She made me feel welcome and quickly checked me in to my superior room on the 15th floor. Reception wanted a 100 USD/EUR guarantee, preferably in cash, and issued a receipt for it. It was returned on check-out. The room met all my expectations. It was relatively large, came with a comfortable double bed, two armchairs and a coffeetable as well as a desk, a fridge, a safe and two 0.5 L water bottles, replenished daily. While there was no socket by the bed, there was a multi-socket by the desk that could accommodate European, US and UK plugs. The room was in good condition and clean. The AC was efficient albeit a bit noisy. Wifi was free, fast, reliable and unlimited. Forget all those old reviews about poor and chargeable wifi, that is not the case anymore in 2024. Overlapping curtains were a good idea in theory, but they did let through some light on the sides. Noise insulation could be better – even if my room was on a higher floor, there was some music and street noise in the day. Nights were quiet, though. No slippers or bathrobes were provided. The bathroom was of average size and came with a walk-in shower with barely adequate water pressure. The water was hot, though. Amenities included single-use bars of soap and a large refillable container of shampoo. Breakfast was available on the 4th floor from 6 to 10. It is not a buffet, and I did not try it. The only restaurant open is an Indian one serving lunch and dinner. However, there are several eateries close by and if you want a traditional buffet breakfast, the Novotel a five-minute walk away offers one for 495 baht. The pool deck is open from 10 am to 6 pm. I wish the opening hours were longer. You can pick up a pool towel at reception, no charge. The pool area was calm and quiet. A few sunbeds were available, and the pool, while not huge, was of adequate size (15 x 7 m) and the water pleasantly warm. Overall, the atmosphere felt a bit eerie. It is a huge hotel, but it's mostly empty. Of the twelve guest room floors, only four or five are in use. The grand lobby is quiet, the retail space in the lobby empty. The hotel claims four stars, which is perhaps a bit much considering the F&B arrangements. I would consider it a 3.5 star establishment. However, it is moderately priced. I paid 48 EUR a night for my superior room, which was only a few euros more than the standard room. Prices do go up occasionally, though. I needed an extra night during Chinese New Year, and that cost me almost the double. The hotel is a few minutes' walk away from the airport rail line, and there is a 7Eleven open 24/7 right across the main entrance on Ratchaprarop Rd. Plenty of cheap shopping options nearby, as well as lots of restaurants. Pratunam pier is 400 meters from the hotel, with water bus service to Old Bangkok. It's not the Ritz, and it might have seen better days, but considering the price, the location and the amenities, I would say it's a good choice if you are looking for an inexpensive alternative but want a room of good size and a swimming pool. I will certainly be back.

We had an amazing time staying at the Indra hotel , from the beginning our wonderful concierge Pimmy was so friendly and helpful , she was kind and helped us out , very olote and even upgraded our room for us - we will be coming back and having our family stay here again .

The entrance to the hotel gives some idea what to expect-nothing. It's dark and bare, the same as the reception area. I was forced to hand over $US100 cash as a deposit for expected damages before I was given a key. No money, no entry, even though I'd booked previously. Breakfast, apart from cereals, was two eggs, a kind of sausage, other bits and three half slices of toast. A blob of jam was dumped on the same plate. The plate was carried from the kitchen across the reception area to the breakfast room uncovered. Hygienic? There is a pool still functioning. The room was clean but the normal expected toiletries were not supplied. Having stayed in the hotel on and off for the past 30 years the hotel is now a shadow of what it used to be It would be better to stay elsewhere, as I will when next in Bangkok.
