Cookery demonstration with delicious lunch

We had booked a cookery demonstration as part of our trip to Jaipur. We received the warmest of welcomes from our hostess Devika. She brought us through her lovely home to the dining area where she showed us how to make a papad curry while we munched on the most delicious onion bajjis. Throughout the demonstration, she chatted with us and encouraged us to participate in chapatti making. After the demonstration, we sat down with Devika to enjoy the fruits of her labour, which were delicious. She was a wonderful hostess, engaging and so friendly. Of note, we were not staying on the property but Devika gave us the tour and it looks lovely. Overall a unique and very enjoyable experience.

We had a most wonderful afternoon Devika! As part of our first trip to India, we wanted to learn more about the not only the culinary specialties served in restaurants, but about how everyday people cook and eat at home. We all need food to survive and how people meet that need can be fun, insightful and tasty! Devika welcomed us into her beautiful home with a shower of flower petals, shared with us pictures and stories of her family. She was warm, cheerful, and kind and made us feel comfortable and welcome. After cooling drinks on her rooftop garden, we began the cooking demonstration (with tasty appetizers to indulge in while she cooked). As she explained ingredients, steps and tips, she had us laughing with stories of her not always smooth path to learning some skills. Amenable to our weaker tolerance for spiciness, she prepared a multi-course meal with ease and grace. Words can't describe the tastiness of each of the dishes -- no words to do it justice! We loved that Devika sat and ate with us - we felt like we were family. This was definitely a first of hopefully many trips to India and we will definitely visit her again!

Gaurav and his team were very attentive and really went out of their way to make our stay in Jaipur as comfortable as possible! Swimming pool was a great bonus. Rooftop outdoor space was lovely. Rooms spacious and charming. Location convenient to old city.

I stayed 2 days in Jaipur and I couldn’t have had a better experience that the one Ikaki gave me. First day I arrived late in the afternoon and they had saved lunch for me because they knew I did a 4h30 road trip. People there were really helpful, thoughtful and disponible for anything I needed. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. I felt welcomed and really secure as a solo woman traveler. I surely recommend that place !

This is a great place to stay in a quiet part of town, beside of a cute little garden with a walking path and playground. The rooms are comfortable, the food is great and the staff so friendly and helpful! We highly recommend this place and will stay there again when back in Jaipur!
