On Friday the 21st of April I made a room reservation and full payment online at the hotel iCheck inn Residences Sukhumvit 20. When I arrived at the hotel at night there was no one at the reception. On the terrace outside the hotel there was a group of young people drinking and I asked them if they knew how I could find a hotel worker to check in. One of the guys got up and went to the reception as he apparently would be the receptionist even though he didn't speak English. It is unacceptable that the hotel does not have any receptionist at the reception and also does not speak English. I gave him my reservation reference number with the full payment, but after looking at the reservation, he told me that even though the reservation was for that same day, April 21, I had to wait until two in the afternoon to check in. . I asked him to please give me a room since I needed to sleep and I couldn't wait so many hours to check in. He told me that he could not give me a room immediately. After politely insisting that he please give me a room, the young receptionist called another worker, a 50-year-old Thai man who seemed to be sleeping and this man rudely told me that they were not going to give me a room and if I had paid online that was my fault and they weren't going to refund my money either. I told them that he was very tired and that he needed to sleep, so he told me that if I paid cash for another room he would give me a room. So I had to pay for a new room for that day. I paid another 1,000 THB. I politely told him that since I was going to pay twice to use a single room they should at least refund me for one of the two payments. The older Thai man yelled at me and he told me that they would not refund me any amount. Subsequently, the young receptionist rudely yelled at me "passport" so that I would give him my information. However, at first he did not want to give me a receipt for the second payment in cash to prevent him from being able to prove the second payment, finally he made me a receipt by hand writing. I went to the room but I could not rest since the air conditioning did not work well, even at maximum speed it was very hot and the bed and pillow were of very poor quality and I was also very frustrated by the mistreatment received by the hotel staff. so after I decided to leave the hotel after a few hours. Go down to the reception the same day April 21 at 11.30 am. At the reception there was a Thai woman in her 50s. I just wanted to leave the hotel, I politely said: "Good morning, I want to check out" I didn't say anything else or mention any refund to that woman. However, she looked at me defiantly and took out the paper from my reservation and she told me in a bad way: "are you the guy from this reservation?" I told him that if that's my reservation. She told me rudely yelling at me in a threatening way: “ok you go now, but no money back, ok? You just go, do you understand?” I just wanted to leave the hotel since the taxi was waiting for me at the door. But this female receptionist started to threaten me without giving me any reason and after saying “Ok, ok” she finally agreed to give me her ID back so I could leave. Since the night before they forced me to leave a physical ID at the reception (in addition to the copy of my ID). The treatment that I have received by the staff of the hotel iCheck inn Residences Sukhumvit 20 according to the description of the facts was rude, threatening and potentially fraudulent. To use a single room for the same day I was rudely required to pay 2 times and treated very rudely in a defiant manner. This case is not about a misunderstanding because of the language, it is a complete shame!! I am a respectable businessman and it is a shame that I have been treated in such a vexatious way by the iCheck inn Residences Sukhumvit 20 hotel. I do not recommend any tourist to use this hotel. Your staff in addition to not speaking English and not being qualified, they act rude, unprofessional and do not know how to treat customers, they treat customers in a threatening manner. In my case, after making me pay twice on the same day for a room that I barely used, I was treated threateningly and denigratingly. In addition to the public complaints, I am considering taking the pertinent legal actions against this hotel to defend my rights.

This hotel is located a bit far from the Sukhumvit main road. But it is in a very calm and secluded place. The surroundings are actually residential area. So your stay would be calm and peaceful. It has a open air lobby outside which is good to spend some time with other mates staying there, The room was tidy and neat. Spacious as well with a nice balcony. The amenities provided were good. It has a bathtub in the bathroom, Usable kitchen and small dinning table as well. It is located in Sukhumvit. So obviously there is no problem to find a place to eat. There are plenty around. Shopping malls and parks are very near by too. A good thing is, we can reach Queen Sirikit BTS station by walk which gives us access to BTS Blue line as well. I would recommend this place to those who love some self time away from the buzzling city yet need to be nearby.

We spent 2 night, here, the room was smell, old and unclean. Don’t waist your time and money. The staff was OK but they refused when i asked them to changing room. Felt bad and disapointed. Never come back.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are big and nice and well cleaned. The hotel also have a small but nice rooftop pool. Price worthy hotel in good location in middle of bangkok close to everything you need.

The Icheck Inn in Soi 20 is a bit off the beaten track all the way at the end of Soi 20 in a small side soi. The room was basic and a bit dated but clean. It had a small fridge, a quite hard bed, a small balcony and shower bath gel and shampoo. This is a real budget accommodation and did deliver nicely on that promise. If you want a higher standard then book something more expensive than 30 Euros a night. If you are happy with basics and dont mind walking at least 10 minutes to the main road then this might be the place for you. A 500 bath deposit is taken upon check-in, alot less than many other places. Staff were friendly and even got us a cab at 6am in the morning so we didnt have to look for it ourselves. The place has a tuc tuc and they will be happy to take you to the mainroad, the Sukhumvit. If I were on a budget I would not hesitate to stay here again. Value for money is good.
