I recently had the opportunity to stay at Ibis Hotel OMR Chennai and had an exceptional experience. While Chennai offers plenty of attractive 4 and 5 star options, I have come to the opinion and discovered that smaller hotels like Ibis deliver a warm, authentic sense of camaraderie and family like atmosphere that truly elevates a stay, giving you a feeling you are amongst dear ones even whilst alone and far away. The team that went above and beyond with genuine hospitality, friendly smiles, and prompt, thoughtful service that made me feel welcomed and valued were most importantly the restaurant and housekeeping. The personnel that excelled therein were Sanjib, always extremely polite and humble but there for each and every guest, with no request being too much! He would always be available all the time, and in his short absences, his senior Dinesh would be there to continue the same. Notwithstanding the fact, and it would be an injustice not to mention each and every single Team Members under them, but naming everyone would be difficult, in case I erred inadvertently missing some of the names. The rooms, which as per International Ibis standards are somewhat compact and constrained, but the Housekeeping Team under Ms Padmaja and her assistants Geeta and the others ensured they were kept clean, and as well-appointed under the circumstances. If there were any issues, with the inimitable Smiling Geeta, always available to troubleshoot and ensure prompt rectification! The Public areas are welcoming and practical, creating pleasant spaces to relax or collaborate. The food was satisfying and served with care, and the hotel’s convenient location on OMR made getting around simple. There were small departmental areas with room to improve, but it wouldn’t be fair to single them out here because those few shortcomings would only distract from the overwhelmingly positive impression left by the rest of the Team. Great stay for the price. Stayed here for 2 nights and the room and washroom was very clean, room service did a great turnover. Happily they provided 4 bottles of water. Minor irritants for me, room wasn't ready when I arrived at 2:30 pm and the bed was too soft for me.
