I stayed for 2 nights after a big cat show in Nonthaburi. Affordable stay for travelers with pets. Just make sure to remind the Front Desk Staff to clean your room, because they won't clean your room even if you hang the sign on your door. There's also a number of restaurants around the hotel should you have a late-night craving (Japanese, Indian, and shabu shabu) and also a 7-Eleven for a quick bite. Traffic can be pretty heavy in the area especially during rush hour, so plan your shopping trips ahead and leave early.

The hotel is not that near Lumphini MRT station and the small alley from the main road is quite dark at night with narrow sidewalks and traffic coming in both directions. Nevertheless, there is a free one-way shuttle from the hotel to the station. My poor review is driven by lack of any room cleaning during my 4 night stay. While I don't mind if they keep the sheets and towels for re-use, I wished they could at least come in to give me 2 new bottles of water a day and clear out the garbage especially when I hang out the clean the room sign. They respond quickly when I call, but given the tropical weather, I don't want any leftover food scraps to attract cockroaches. The room is functional and sufficiently large but there is a little bit of smell coming from the bathroom, which is showing its age. The body wash bottle's dispenser was broken so I fixed it myself by taking off the top part rather than call for help. Soundproofing is also not good as I could clearly hear my other floormates' doors slamming in the morning.

Positive : A 10 minute walk from Lumphini MRT station* on the Blue Line and pretty much everything one would expect from the Ibis Red Brand. Comfortable twin room with extra pillow. Clever open plan furniture configuration with fridge and mini safe. Good Wifi, AC, ensuite, TV with 100s of Multi Language Channels. Reasonable city views on higher floors. Onsite breakfast, bar, restaurant and self collect room service options. The rear street has multiple food outlets plus a handy 24H 7-11. Out of Lumphini MRT station, (exit 2,) is a small, (albeit soul-less,) food mall under a major bank HQ skyscraper, which also includes a Starbucks and a Boots pharmacy. One metro stop to Silom = Patpong Night Market, Street food and bars. (Several indoor AC foodcourts if you prefer.) 4 stops to Wat Mangkon = China Town. 1 more stop to Sam Yot then a 30 min walk, (or 10 min Tuk Tuk,) to the legendary Khaosan Road. Negatives : *There is no mention of the free shuttle service, (running hourly until 16.30,) to both the local MRT & BTS stations. Again, at check in, no mention of the free shuttle service. (Identical issue at Ibis Saigon Airport - 12/12/23.) Why aren't Accor making more of this ? - "The shuttle will leave in 30 minutes. Please enjoy a cool happy hour beer in our bar, & we'll call you for departure !" (£ $ € !) There is only ONE very badly designed double 2 pin socket in the room, and It's impossible to use both outlets simultaneously with 2x standard sized U.K. adaptors. The USB socket next to the bed had barely enough charge to restart the heart of a dying butterfly. In honour of Bangkok's notable NYE fireworks display, the ensuite shower also switched seamlessly between hot and cold in precise 20 second cycles. I've been an Accor Member for a decade. Uniquely, I was asked to pay a 1000 Baht, (£23,) security deposit at this hotel. I have never paid such a deposit at a single Accor hotel before. This deposit was not listed on their website when I booked. It also raises a red flag about potential problems at this hotel. I believe this sum would severly hamper the spending plans of someone travelling on a tight cash budget. (Cash is refunded after check-out if originally paid in cash.) Imagine anyone 1000 Baht "light" on their "last night" in the city, flying early the next morning. I found it odd that Accor members, with a long and proven booking history, would even be asked for this deposit.

The location is in the Sathorn area which is close to Silom. The location of the hotel is congested, difficult to find, and less strategic. But the hotel area itself is quite comfortable because there are lots of food stalls, massage stalls and there are several levels in front of the hotel, very easy to shop. Luckily the hotel provides a shuttle to Lumphini MRT and Saladaeng BTS, the problem is getting home because they don't provide pick-up to the MRT and BTS while Bangkok is in the rainy season, the road is also quite far. The check-in process required a passport and a deposit of one thousand bath which will be returned at checkout. Also given a card for free WiFi access Superior room with a comfortable size for the Ibis class. The mattress was comfortable with the right level of softness (not hard) and there were only 2 pillows + 1 pillow near the table. In my opinion, the maintenance and cleanliness of this hotel is very good because the room walls look like they are painted clean, there are no black or yellow spots. Two bottles of mineral water are provided which are refilled every day, coffee, tea, paper and pens. There is a water heating kettle too. The TV service is also clear and good even though the TV is small. Wifi is also very fast around 80 mbps. The standard ibis bathroom is very narrow. The shower is very narrow but the soap and shampoo smell good. Amazingly, 2 body towels and 2 hand towels are provided. The bathroom was also very clean, no yellow stains at all. Very above my expectations. The only minus is that they don't provide toothbrushes as in-room amenities so I have to buy them. There are no facilities other than the lobby, restaurant, bar and business center which are all on the same floor as the lobby. There is a shuttle to BTS and MRT including hotel facilities. Because my room was room only, I only tried breakfast on day 3 by paying 120 thousand rupiah per pax. With Accor plus, I can enjoy a 50% discount on food so I can get 2 pax. The food served is quite tasty, the croissants are also delicious The menu: 1. Cereal, waffles, bread pudding, juice, milk, pao, bread, croissants 2. Coffee, tea, pasta, potato, eggs, pork ham, pork sausage, chicken sausage, chicken curry, porridge 3. Fruit, yoghurt, salad, cold cut, buad fuk thong (pumpkin with coconut milk sauce)
