Very nice Hotel. Very Clean and quiet. The beds here are very comfortable. The best I had in India outside of 5 star hotels. The premises are like a garden with pool. The resturant has very good choice of food.

tThe only good thing about the hotel is it's location. Lake Pichola and City Palace are quite close from the hotel. So even if you check in the hotel in any circumstance, it would be advisable to roam around the city more and spend less time in the hotel, like we did. The housekeeping were not dressed, and appeared filthy. The bathroom's drainage was the most disappointing part. To present the room better, they have some wallpapers, unfortunately those din't help. The almirah provided was very dirty and was of no use. The hotel uses key-lock system (and not the card system). There was no room cleaning during our stay. If requested, the housekeeping would just replace the bedsheet. To turn on the geyser, one needs to call the reception. If you are coming back to hotel, you need to inform the reception to start the power supply of the room. When asked, they said for security reasons this is required. There is no way in the room to get a direct sunlight. They also have a rooftop restaurant, which is badly maintained. The size of cups serving tea and milk are very small, and the charges are more. There was a weird noise in the nights, starting 11pm till 2-3am may be. The noise was of men arbitrarily shouting and cracking some random jokes. We booked the hotel through Make my trip, and paid almost 3 times the price, since we were running out of time and hotels were majorly getting full.

Experience in this hotel was very bad. They charge rates around Rs 1800 per night and the facilities are below par. The Geysers are not working, the plumbing is very bad. If you turn the tap on, the water comes from the shower as well. The room and bathrooms are not maintained very well. The breakfast served was also very poor. Poha was not cooked well and was hard. Upma was only Rava with hot water, no taste at all. The worst of all was the owner, when I gave him this feedback and asked him to reduce price for the poor service, he instead of convincing me, was talking in a gruffy manner, saying that these are all small issues and do not matter to others. I finally wanted to pay my bill in my Credit card, but guess what, this hotel charges you exorbitant rates for minimal services, but does not have a card machine. He is like if you use card machine, he will be charged by the bank. If one of our friend had not fallen sick, who wanted to rest asap, we would not have taken this hotel. There are few other good & far better hotels on the same road. You can happily opt for that rather than later repenting the worst service by Raj Shree Palace. One more thing, there is nothing like "Palace" feeling in this hotel. Please avoid this hotel for your own good.
