The room was clean but we had to get the sheets changed as they were dirty. room was large and at one time would have been a luxury room but it was a bit run down with fitting broken. Location was great walking distance to city , the shrine, and the railway station. an average place and i would stay again if in Madurai

Madurai being a very important holistic city with lots of temples, heritage Menakshi amman temple and historical monuments.I stayed for a couple of days and chose Prem Nivas hotel which is in the heart of the city, very accessible to all important places of interest at a moderately reasonable cost. The conveniences are fantastic and the customer support is very satisfactory. If anybody looking into a decent place to stay situated in the heart of the city, then Prem Nivas Hotel is the ready answer. I love the stay thereat...

As the headline implies, this hotel lack some basics. Thankfully I had my own blanket and towel with me, but I asked to have the sheets changed right after check-in, which didn't happen. The entire room wasn't clean (walls, floor etc), and normally i would've changed hotel, but I was too lazy :) Great location and friendly staff saves this place from one star.

Stayed here for a day( 0830 - 2130). It was a decent stay. Bed sheets did not look clean white. Hotel authorities had forgotten to give us soap. We got it later after our bath. Check in time as per booking was 1200 standard. We checked in around 0830 without any hassles. We stayed in room 406. Meenakshi temple is some 900 metres, Railway station is about 500 metres. City Bus station is some 700 metres. Good restaurants are nearby. The approach road is bad. When we arrived on 1st sep morning, the road already had previous night's rain water. Still there were places at the edges of the road, where one could approach the hotel without wetting your ankles/footwear. The same evening, on our return from Meenakshi Temple, it rained heavily and the approach road became a river. There was no option, but our legs were under water to some extent. I would still recommended it to my friends.
