Verdict: Good place to stay, but looking at the hotel do not dream of great facility.

This hotel has great facility but gets marred by its Services. Restaurant is a flop show. With Service team not aware of how to manager orders. There is lack of coordination. Rooms are old but are best kept. Felt nostalgic to see Philip Vision TV which I had in my house in early 90s. Rooms have great view of early morning and evening. Apart from the hotel you can walk around the locality which is peaceful and with less traffic. They have garden but not usable in the evening, as they don't lit it in the night. Verdict: Good place to stay, but looking at the hotel do not dream of great facility.

First the wifi was not operational but the phone did not work to call. Down in the lobby they suggested I change rooms, the situation was no better but the phone worked. The next morning I found the shower did not work, but the traditional bucket and cup worked as the water was warm. Still no wifi so I changed room on he second night but the situation remained unchanged. I was using wifi in the lobby where it did work (but not the the restaurant!) Finally the last night I was changed to a room on a lower floor and there yes there was wifi. I learned that the family was in turmoil but the guests are at the mercy ...

Stayed in a non-AC family suite; good and spacious rooms with comfy beds and large windows. BUT was extremely surprised to see LIZARDS in the room, in the shower and one night when we arrived back they were happily playing on the entrance door and we could not shoo them away easily! Complained to the Manager too; we didnt find such terrible maintenance in any other good property anywhere! Needs some good pest control immediately.

Loved the heritage atmosphere in this hotel. Whenever it was constructed, the job was super well-done. Pro's: A) Rooms are airy, spacious. Bathrooms are well designed. Beds are of good quality. B) Lobby is nice to relax in. C) Plenty of parking. D) Food is delicious. E) Quiet locality, nice for evening/morning strolls through residential neighbourhood. F) 2-3 buildings away from the beautiful house of R K Narayan, the famous author! Con's: A) My package had a buffet breakfast and here the restaurant guys are very possessive - they will not allow you to touch a thing! Even jam and butter, they will apply themselves - it is NOT self-service :-) B) Not central; the hotel is in a residential locality 3-4 km away from palace. So if you are not having your own transport, this may be an inconvenience. C) Only vegetarian food available.

No Free WIFI, not clean, broken pipes & lights, No value for money... Overall experience is not good.. The priCe is high but the quality is not good enough for the money paid. Old furnitures and fittings. Bathrooms and toilets should be more clean. On positive side the Staff is cooperative.
